Direct Line (not allowed to lower my car until im 25)

  Clio MK2 (1.2)
just phoned them 2day to let them kno ov my speeding conviction and lucky enough it hasnt gone up :) but im saving up to 25% as i have AA cover Result :D

But when i said iw as goin to lower my car today they said your not allowed until your 25 :S wtf is that a joke because i have seen people younger than me with their cars lowered :S

Tesco only allow you to have a few mods don't they?

Quinn Direct are good if your young and wanna mod your car.

Ive got quite afew mods declared... They didn't say anything about limited amount of mods. But they won't insure a 182 when i get one. So Elephant it is!

I had in excess of £6k+ worth of mods with Tesco.

No one could match there price and they covered replacements on a like for like basis :)

I honestly didn't know that, I thought they were similar to Direct Line but had a limit to how many modifications you could do to your car. Tesco is now back on the list of insurers to check :)

Tesco/Virgin ftw, both much cheaper than anywhere else I checked. Im with Tesco and paying £40 a month fully comp with protected no claims :)

Id leave direct line mate!

Greenlight insurance said I can mod anything I want for free as long as I declare the mods and the mods dont increase power above 20bhp.

wont be re-newing my insurance with Directline this year no way, dont kno why iv got coilovers if i cant lower it :(

quinn direct ? only for irish/scotland people ?

heard that the NFU or NFW (farmers insurance) is cheaper so might have to contact them :)

I have'nt declared any mods to my insurance co is this bad cause how they ever going to know only if you have a crash or something, like when my car was stolen I had loads of modifictions that i did'nt tell them about an they did'nt say a word after the engineer had checked the car over.?

National Farmers Union - Cheap? Nah, keep jogging. Really isnt cheap, ask susanne about that. PS - Dad works for them, even with his discount my insurance was still 1000. No thanks.

Quinn Direct - Avaliable to all. Muchos Cheapo.

Im with direct line, called them to declare my exhaust and they said they didnt allow mods. They excepted it though when i told them i only bought it for the lifetime warrenty ;)

wont stick with direct line for long tbh

I had the same problem with Direct Line when I was insured with them. Changed to Adrian Flux as a result and they were miles cheaper anyway!

Direct Line told me I couldn't lower my 172.

So I didn't lower it ;) ;)

I replaced the standard springs which had conveniently corroded with pattern parts that some how seemed to make the car sit slightly lower but I was informed they were made to OEM spec... or very close. ;)
They seemed to love that and said ok.

There's always one!! Please go and call you insurers now to declare your mods. In the long run we might have better premium costs.

When you come to renewal, your insurance may go up...

I got a speeding conviction in August last year, phoned up DL and didnt get charged anything, however my insurance is due for renewal next month, so i did 2 quotes out of interest - 1 with conviction, 1 without, £50 difference!

DIRECT LINE ARE f**king s**t

they tempted me with building my ncb as a named driver.. fine. I did that for years after all all i did was drive it on the weekends or to college and back. I racked up 3 years then decided to get the sport. Now i got 4 years ncb and cant protect it why? because i built up 3 of them as a named driver. so whats the point. It means im stuck with them for another 3 years till i get 4 years on my own as well as 3 years as a named.

Really pissed. They tell you in the advert you can use the named ncb when you come to take your own policy but nothing about protecting it.

Fuckem.

im with directline. they mugged me off when i put my BMC on wanted an extra 100 quid!!
