Exhaust Flame thrower

Ive just ordered an exhaust flame thrower for my car off e-bay ( show purposes only ) and saved a fortune by ordering it from a guy in the states - it works out at about £45 for a complete kit instead of £150 which someone in the uk is importing them thereselves and selling them at. The e-bay link is below - the guy is dead helpful and offers a real good product.

u can make these yourself if u get a coil, a sparkplug, and a switch.

I cant see why they are so expensive when you can just source the parts from any scrappie, its not as if the kits are the butane ones, these just ignite the unburnt petrol in the exhaust.

It was $39.99 and £21 for import duty - so with $10.00 postage the total works out at about £45 - £50 GBP. Thats £100 cheaper than the english bloke on e-bay thats sellin the same kit.

Besides at idle the flames wouldnt be that big, and if they did burn your bumper, then your too close to his arse end.

but... that flame thrower may not throw owt out the pipe without gas... unless ur extremely over fuelling... ie turbo motors. unless ur running big juicy v8s on twin hollies u might be dissapointed!

my cousins got a flamer kit on his RT, wired it up himself, cost him nothin in parts. He actually needed to put 2 switches in the set up, the 1st switch kills the engine, but (i think) lets petrol still come through if you tap the accelorator pedal, and the 2nd switch ignites the spark plug. With just the spark plug switch alone it wouldnt flame. Get flames about 1 foot - 2 feet long and a few pops n bangs, pretty cool indeedy

Mine shoots flames without massively overfueling and running so rich.
And thats only on a 1.4

Jimmy_mac will also back me up as hes the one who witnessed the flames.

PMSL, you can build one for about a £5 there is only about 12 components in total.

They dont work very well on a N/A car anyway, unless you get a propane bottle too.

Andy B,s clio has a flamer kit on it&ive witnessed it&when ur at a cruise&u let a flame out ya car its impressive. Besides some people on here like modify their cars. What Ive noticed with the propane kits is the fact that the flames come out exactly like that, as lit gas.

Where as a turbos car that run a high fuel mix, flames like a cannon! lol

Show purposes only so no one is going to get anything burnt on the roads, and it will be a sleeper on the roads..no point being subtle at York as its going to be pretty obvious that it aint a 1.2 once he has blasted up the strip.
