lovely car !
following on IG. Top car, so much Trophy want atm...
Drilled the original rivet heads off and knocked the remains through the metal part of the pedal, then secure the new pedal plate with new rivets. Easy as that. How did you remove the old & secure the new?

Fair play mate, just read all this and seems you've done a fair bit to your T, and you've done a lot your self. Respect.
Was I pissed up when I agreed to this?! I can't remember agreeing!! Lol!Initial plan was to remove the box and rebuild it with @NorthloopCup, this involving taking the car off the road for a week or so.
Job for Wednesday that geo setup!
Yeah to right! I don't work in the rain. It gets my hair wet. :lolup:Certainly is, hope the weather holds out

Good luck with the gearbox rebuild. Some mid build/informative pics would be great
You need to do a video to show the 1st gear issue dan. Lol! Not bad eh considering we only had sockets, a hammer, 2 screwdrivers, a blow torch and the snap-on impact gun to strip it down to that level!Well today has been rather eventful even though I got up late after nights.
So first off I checked the camber was set correctly before collecting @NorthloopCup and loading up the trophy van with tracking sticks and tooling an setting off to the workshop.
The camber has been set to -2 degrees and the tracking to 20 minutes toe out to help with turn in speeds with recommendation of @NorthloopCup.
After that we popped back to my house and set to work stripping one of the JC5 182 boxes I have to build the replacement for the trophy.
Even though I'm a time served tech I haven't much experience in terms of gearbox rebuilding so Mark kindly showed me the light and highlighted areas of wear and damage and what to look out for.
Here's a few pics
The money shot of @NorthloopCup in action toting his gun haha
Jc5 in kit form
Now it's all stripped and the shopping list has been made and a few other shiney bits ordered along with some vibratechnic engine mounts I've picked up.
EFA! LolThey'll be many more pictures mate along the way, luckily Mark has a lot of experience with gearboxes and previous JC5 experience unfortunately lol.
Was fairly straight forward coming to pieces but they'll no doubt be lots of swearing by me because Mark will be standing taking the piss out of me whilst I try and rebuild it haha
