So gave it a little wash and thought it looked good so took a snap haha

So yesterday whilst having me weekly catch up and brew with NorthloopCup and laughing at those less fortunate he kindly donated one of his throttle pedals. (Later known as the tmr developments pedal that adds 20bhp haha)

Still getting the hang of the old heel and toe but here it is in comparison.

Fair play mate, just read all this and seems you've done a fair bit to your T, and you've done a lot your self. Respect.

Cheers mate, I do it all myself as I'm actually a mechanic by trade (Volvo trained) I just work in rail now as it's better paid.

Yeah I've got a lot more planned for it this year and some updates to add but been to busy working on other folks clios haha

Well a little picture update, nothing to exciting.

So it's had a slightly hit and miss ruff change into third gear. Initial plan was to remove the box and rebuild it with NorthloopCup, this involving taking the car off the road for a week or so.

I came across a chap on the forum who had a 182 box (bolt in diff) and a 172 box. Both need a little tlc but I'll be replacing all seals and bearings and then whatever other parts that are worn or causing a problem, this meaning car can stay on the road.

And here's a little picture of the car.

Nothing to exciting today, changed the oil and filter before I went out for a family meal. No pictures I'm afraid but all looks as it should underneath

Well on Saturday I decided it was about time to refit the sachs now the sunny weather is here.

First off I got them out from under the bed and checked the pressures, all was as expected and they met the requirements recommend by Simon at Cornering Force.

So I popped down the parents and got cracking, must say what a great day it was for it and my bald little head even got a tan.

I did have a suspicious noise before I stripped it that I assumed was down to play in one of the top mounts so I ordered some bearings from Pure Motorsport but when stripped they all seemed good and no play was found so I saved them for a rainy day. I also fitted some camber bolts and roughly set it with the iPhone but it will be receiving a geo setup this week with the assistance of @northloop cup. I also got round to ordering some Koni adjustables for the rear too which will be here by Wednesday hopefully.

I then spent the afternoon rebuilding and timing up a friends 225 powered 197 after it's been stripped down due to a slight compression issue, happy to say it's all above board now and running a treat so all in all I had a clio filled weekend.

Yeah to right! I don't work in the rain. It gets my hair wet.

Yeah last thing we want is that, especially with the amount of time you spend on your hair ;)

Well got a call off me sister today, another parcel has been delivered she said so I popped on down to me mum and dads to be greeted by these

Koni adjustable dampers for the rear, now the dampening is adjustable front and rear hopefully giving me a little more control over setup.

Progress has been a little slow over past couple of months due to industrial action at work but now full service has been resumed :)

So after a brew with NorthloopCup this afternoon I set off and thought I'll stick these f*****s on before the missus gets home.

So first off I cracked the top mount nuts on the old sachs dampers

Then cracked off the bottom mounts and pulled them out.

The old trophy sachs, I then cleaned up the bump stops and dust covers with some wd40 and primed the Koni dampers and swapped it all over.

I then replaced in the reverse order as Haynes says lol.

I then turned them to full hard and had an interesting drive home hahaha.

Sorry for lack of pictures but once I get stuck in the phones a distant memory

Well today has been rather eventful even though I got up late after nights.

So first off I checked the camber was set correctly before collecting NorthloopCup and loading up the trophy van with tracking sticks and tooling an setting off to the workshop.

The camber has been set to -2 degrees and the tracking to 20 minutes toe out to help with turn in speeds with recommendation of NorthloopCup.

After that we popped back to my house and set to work stripping one of the JC5 182 boxes I have to build the replacement for the trophy.

Even though I'm a time served tech I haven't much experience in terms of gearbox rebuilding so Mark kindly showed me the light and highlighted areas of wear and damage and what to look out for.

Here's a few pics

Now it's all stripped and the shopping list has been made and a few other shiney bits ordered along with some vibratechnic engine mounts I've picked up.

Good luck with the gearbox rebuild. Some mid build/informative pics would be great :)

They'll be many more pictures mate along the way, luckily Mark has a lot of experience with gearboxes and previous JC5 experience unfortunately lol.

Was fairly straight forward coming to pieces but they'll no doubt be some swearing before it's done haha

You need to do a video to show the 1st gear issue dan. Lol! Not bad eh considering we only had sockets, a hammer, 2 screwdrivers, a blow torch and the snap-on impact gun to strip it down to that level!
