HELP- swapping 182 engine with 172???!

Hi I have a 2004 182 non cup with a/c
The cambelt has snapped and I'm thinking about changing the engine
Will a 172 engine fit in my 182 if so any advice would be great.

yes it will fit, I just put a 182 engine in a mates 172.

IIRC use the Manifold and inlets from your 182

Use the lower inlet from the 182 (larger ports), same with the upper, but you have to change the breather plate.

Make sure there isn't any broken bits of engine in the old inlets if you swap them over.....easier to take engine and box out at the same time.
