Hey guys, I thought I would bring my ek9.org thread onto here.
Quite afew of you understand why people spend thousands and thousands just to keep their ek9 looking fresh.
Firas, his thread alone, has showed me that an ek9 deserves the best.
Basicly, my ek9 has seen better days. She has a slight two tone approach to her Championship White.
Also, she was not under sealed until I purchased her. Which left her open to the elements, as well as slight bubbles of rust are appearing on the rear arch.
She's currently off the road and has been replaced by a lovely little 106 1.1
Here's my plan to get her back to her former glory!
Remove engine, gearbox and ancillaries - Degrease engine/box, and paint block/head/gearbox and get a refurbished cam cover.
While engine is removed, respray the whole engine bay - Championship White.
Mild wire tuck. - Headlight wires etc
Remove bumpers/skirts.
Find any parts which have rust/dents/damage and repair them.
Send the car for a full respray - Championship White.
This list will no doubt change slightly, but there is my overall plan.
I'm fairly competent with most things, mechanical/electrical, so I'm hoping I can do most of the work myself.
Updates should be coming soon when I start to strip her down!
---------------------------------------
Had a few hours on the 9 today.
Bumper/Skirts removed.
Wings removed.
Lights removed.
Front suspension out.
Drive Shafts uncoupled from hubs.
I'm hoping to drop the engine/box out tomorrow!
---------------------------------------------------------------
Ended up going mountain biking this morning, but that didn't stop be getting the engine out!

Degreased + First coat of paint.. Not looking too bad!
I took a few closer pictures of the engine bay "grime" lol.
Be warned, it could put you off your food.

Update;
After cleaning the engine bay and giving it a damn good polishing.
I've decided that the only part of the bay that needs a respray is the very front where the radiator sits! Cleaned/painted a few more parts on the engine.
Got the car outside today and gave her a clean underneath!
Sorry no pictures! (I always forget my camera)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another weekend, another morning working on the ek.
Gearbox oil turned up!
More stripping ready for the respray!
Filth.
Parts.
That's as far as I've got! Should be booking her in for respray at the end of this week.
Ordered a few pretty things for her;
White Radiator Hoses
Blox Purple LCAs (Will replace blox bushing with Henrys custom machined bushings)
Vtec solenoid cover
Will get some pictures up when they arrive!
Enjoyyyy!
