Hill power inlet bend MK1 172

Would like to brighten up my engine bay and thought about fitting Hillpowers inlet bend and wondered whether it fits onto the standard airbox?
The bend on the car as standard doesnt look like a 90 degree!
Can I just buy a samco 90 degree bend as its cheaper and then run the breather into a seperate pot which I can make up?

The HP is shorter (iirc) so it accomodates BMC's and Vipers with greater ease. Not sure if it would work well with the standard airbox.

The whole idea of the bend is to increase airflow to the throttle body as the standard one has ridges in it that theoretically slow down air flow - if your after it for performance reasons get the hillpower one - i can fabricate you one out of polished steel for about £40.

u can use a filter on the beather pipe but some say yer engine bay can smell of oil yer choice , nick can get longer inlet bends i beilieve to fit a standard air box.
