How do you fit a 182 steering wheel?

The steering wheel on my dci dynamique is lookin a little tatty now so was thinkin bout tryin to swap it over for one of the nice 172/182 ones with the silver reno sport detailing on it.

How easy or hard would that be to do?
could anyone point me in the rite direction?

Also i'd like to change / respray the silver strippy things on the dash that say airbag as they've become a bit scratched... is the old one just clipped on, or would it break if i pulled it?

take the airbag out and undo the torx bolt.

slide new wheel on and refit airbag.

(battery off first)

I never f**k about with airbags, guy I know saw someone lose half his fingers. Removed battery etc, but it takes suprisingly little charge to set an airbag off.

Disconnect the battery about 30mins before pissing about will be more than enough time for any residual charge to dissopate. In all the years working in the motortrade I've only seen someone set off an airbag once and that was because he hadnt disconnected the battery!

When i went on an airbag course they claimed static from your fingers if you touched the airbag electrical contacts *could* set them off, i used to always cut a piece of electrical tape off, then when i have removed the airbag place the tape over the contacts that were in a recess.

When handling the airbag keep the base towards your body with the airbag facing outwards, when storing, place the airbag module base down in an enclosed space such as the boot, when you have refitted the airbag, switch on ignition, shut doors and windows, then re-connect battery, so if it does go off you are not sat in front of it.
