I Just Got an Immense Deal On A 182

Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182

Well even if you'd all rather buy a well used one, this guy is happy with his purchase and I don't blame him. Plus he'll be able to sell it for more than high mileage ones later on.

Exactly, in 3/4/5 years time when most are approaching 70k, even with average miles this car will still be under 40k (if low/med use it could be mid 20s easily) and will be the car people will be more likely to buy and probably pay more than the cost difference of a "belt change" for!

Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182

Yeh I know but thats what he's paying to change, not so hot after all though imo.

3.5k for a car with 65k Less miles, bigger engine and in really good condition. I think thats a very good price to pay!

Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182

As long as you're happy dude, thats the main thing. Cup packs are over-rated anyway IMO.

If you have balls and dont want to drive a tractor, you'll be lowering. 99% of them are missing the front splitter and carbon looks better. So its just the rear spoiler and theyre easy enough to get.

Just get the service done and then rag it once its warm and get it opened up!

Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182

LMAO!!! If the guy said he paid £4.30p for a Clio V6 with 12 miles on the clock you guys would still pick out something wrong with it!!!!!

Some of the things you guys put really makes me laugh..."I'd rather have one with 40k" LMFAO!!!!!

I have been in the trade for 5 years and the guy has got a good deal, close to book price but with silly low mileage. Let me see, i buy a car with 9k on do 10k a year for 4 years and sell a 9 year old car with 49k on!!!!!

OR I do a CLIOSPORT 40K SPECIAL!!!

and buy one with 40k for the same price cos is has a different spolier and some shiney wheels and i do 10k a year and try sell it with 80k on!!

NOW! who is going to get more money for there car in 4 years time? One with 49k on or one with 80k on?????????

CRACKING DEAL MATE, DONT LET THESE HATERS TELL YOU OTHERWISE!!!!

Certainly not a bad price I agree, especially on the part exch value considering the current situation. Just the belts will not be cheap and i'd want one with more miles on at that age, its hardly been used for 5 years. I bet for most of the times its ran its never been able to get up to a proper working temp for a start.

Still be a cracking upgrade for you though!

Why is that so hard for you to grasp? So you'd rather a car thats spent most its life sat around? Its not got the "good" spec and it needs the belts doing. Its not a bad deal, its just not a great one.

In 4 years time they'll be worth about £2k. So 40k or 80k isnt going to make much difference tbh, a few hundred quid at most.

Oh and LOL!! @ using 5 years as a boast!! Ive been on here longer than that, so maybe I know Clios better?

Nonsense, double the mileage saves only a few hundred?? More like £1000. Most likely if you think the 80k+ milers will be worth £2k then the low miler will be worth £3k. And I'm a high mileage fan! but that's just the nature of cars - people (especially the trade - and they are the ones that influence the value more than an internet forum) like low mileage!

5 years was not a boast, I was simply letting people know I have been in the motor trade 5 years??? Whats wrong with that?

Not sure how accurate your valuation of £2k is 4 years time but even so which will be the easiest and quickest to sell, the 80k clio may be worth 1800 by the time someone eventually buys it?

Also once a cars mileage gets over 60k you tend to get more little problems and the cost of getting it through an MOT starts to rise.

When I value cars I use a system called CAP, and its what most major dealers use (as far as im aware, I am sure you will correct me if i am wrong!)

When taking in a clio with 40k on now I would retail the car which means I can give more for it to start with normally top CAP, a car with 80k on would immidatley be a trade car so I would offer around £500 under bottom CAP depending on the car!

So the difference may be a lot more than you think, anyway I am not on here to justify myself.

I still think the guy got a cracking deal and maybe some of us need to lighten up a little, does it really matter?????

been clocked haha jokin!

mint deal mate, im looking to do similar with my 1.6 16v when it gets fired up again

Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182

It was just a guess really, but look at the price of Ph1's, theyve really dropped.

I agree that it will be worth more, but not loads.. There are so many available and theyre getting a bit older now.

You think he got a cracking deal.. I think it was average. But hes happy, thats all that matters.

Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182

good deal mate especialy with those miles:cool:
think there are a few pissed off people on here that paid 8-10k 8 months ago and realise there cars are now worth 4k+:quiet:

Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182

Tbh I really can not see how it is a good deal. As long as the OP is happy that is all that matters.

Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182

£1000? No way. Certainly not in 4 years time.

Look at the price of Ph1's.

There's two Phase 1 172 on 'Trader, one with 83k @ £2350 and another with 34k @ £3450. Whether one or both are optimistic or not who knows but that was just a quick look!

Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182

Good effort. Not a bad deal as said. I paid about that for my 54 plate with 27k, both cup packs, 1 owner - 6 months ago.

Still holding their value. Slightly...

Each to their own. But I think some people on here are too quick to judge and comment without thinking, I am not just on about this post BTW.

This forum is known on other forums for its massive negativity towards other members, we should all be happy he has bough a Cliosport, even if it cost him £10k. It doesnt matter, the forum is here as a community for people with the same interests and cars, not for people who think they know everything about Renaults to b!tch at other people for the mistakes they have made (thats not aimed at u Revels, this is a general rant).

Rant over...

Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182

Each to their own!

Looks a decent buy and as long as it has hpi/experian dont worry about it mate.

I d find a specialist and get them to just check the belts. If they are in good condition just roll with it.

Dont worry about it not having a cup pack just buy some H and R springs.

Enjoy.

Yeh, there will always be someone that got one cheaper, with more history, less miles for less money..

I just think had he posted before he bought it and was aware of it needing the belts, no cup packs he might have looked at it a little closer..

But like I said at the top of the last page.. Hes happy, thats all that matters!

You get what you pay for in cars with over 100k, nuff said! :D

can add 182 cup front hubs and then fit any aftermarket 182 suspension you like.

Not the best price considering 04's were selling for that sort of money 6-9 months ago

Lollerskates at people saying they'd rather have a car with 40k on the clock than one with 9k.

Proper jealous people on here.

I can't see anybody going to a dealers and turning down a car because it hasn't got enough miles on.

HAHA I can picture that, the salesman shows u a car and says "what do you think?" and you say "well I was looking for a car with a few more miles on the clock, something a little more used than this one!"

LMAO!

Very good deal for a 9k car. Probably one of the lowest mileage cars in the club.
