Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182
Why is that so hard for you to grasp? So you'd rather a car thats spent most its life sat around? Its not got the "good" spec and it needs the belts doing. Its not a bad deal, its just not a great one.
In 4 years time they'll be worth about £2k. So 40k or 80k isnt going to make much difference tbh, a few hundred quid at most.
Oh and LOL!! @ using 5 years as a boast!! Ive been on here longer than that, so maybe I know Clios better?
5 years was not a boast, I was simply letting people know I have been in the motor trade 5 years??? Whats wrong with that?
Not sure how accurate your valuation of £2k is 4 years time but even so which will be the easiest and quickest to sell, the 80k clio may be worth 1800 by the time someone eventually buys it?
Also once a cars mileage gets over 60k you tend to get more little problems and the cost of getting it through an MOT starts to rise.
When I value cars I use a system called CAP, and its what most major dealers use (as far as im aware, I am sure you will correct me if i am wrong!)
When taking in a clio with 40k on now I would retail the car which means I can give more for it to start with normally top CAP, a car with 80k on would immidatley be a trade car so I would offer around £500 under bottom CAP depending on the car!
So the difference may be a lot more than you think, anyway I am not on here to justify myself.
I still think the guy got a cracking deal and maybe some of us need to lighten up a little, does it really matter?????
