I thought I recognised the car tonight.

I was just trying to remember the last time i actually washed this Trophy, it was outside on Sunday and it rained hard and the water just bounced of it and run away, when i put it back inside it was clean and dry. The Sonax bsd on it must be an inch thick. Its supposed to rain this afternoon so perhaps i will leave it out again. Still around the 5k miles and still displaying its large Cliosport sticker ready for when it goes to a show.

Found this pic of my old Trophy from 2015, kinda like the wheels, this was for sale at Renault Croydon recently again LV65 VKD.

My 220 Trophy was sold yesterday to a gentleman from Aberdeen, he already has a collection of cars including a storm grey 200 and was looking for a Trophy in silver. The original plate was AV17VZK and was sold with 6840 miles from new, i hope he enjoys it as much as me.

Unfortunately Renaults production cars never look anywhere near as good as the concept cars.

Finally found an unmolested 172, totally standard with a good history, just needs a new sticker 😎

Headlights have been swapped but looks like a really tidy example

Hard to come by a Pearl Black 172 that hasnt been stripped or absolutely abused to certain near death!

Everything is changed, even grill tabs replaced, two sets of xenon lights have been purchased, both have had broken clips so have gone back. May be easier to wrap it blue and buy cup badges. If you have a good set with black inserts please give me a ring 07896777793 ian

nice to see it when you finally get a set of xenons for it, last time i was trying to get a set i found it easier to just buy a clio initiale and swap the xenons as they seem to get less of a hard life!

So far this week we are changing the coil pack and leads and fitting cup shocks with grams springs.

Still have cup spoiler, seats, steering wheel, front brakes and xenon lights to change or fit. Super job by Kam racing on the Delivery of these parts highly recommend.
I am beginning to become attached to my 172 and it sure is fun to drive.

I have a stock black FF 172 and always thought it’s the worst looking std clio sport. Don’t get me wrong I love the car but the stock wheels almost make it indistinguishable from a bogo model clio IMO.

I think Turinis look great on them.

That was the charm to me!

Just fitted the cup spoiler and the brake light does not work, any advice with this, it had the same fittings etc.

Unplug it and put 12v to the connector straight from the battery

If it doesn't light up then replace the LED strip in there with one from eBay

Thank you Pudding, I’ve taken it off again, wiggled and it lights up so must be a connection, also the red plugs on either side need pushing in hard which we didn’t do, Tony from Spraymaster is coming around to play he’s an expert with spoilers etc he fitted my cup spoilers on my 197,s 😎

Went for blast up and down the A12 this morning, definitely need to upgrade the brakes next, orange engine management light was flashing on again so have ordered another coil from RPD. I have a cup spoiler brake light on route from Renault @ Colchester 😃 and a new boot mat with insulation from a breakers off EBay.
