you sure? i wander why they told me that then? he asked me my age and the car and point blank refused to give me a quote :S..

il see if they will let me speak to gary... unless there policys have changed? how old are you now and what were you paying at 19?

Shame you've already bought it, I'd have suggested you seriously look at something else.

If you can afford the insurance then fine, cough up and be done with it. Backwhen I was 19 I was forced to pay nearly 1k for a 1.5 diesel (no turbo) Corsa, so I'm not in any way surprised about how much it costs.

If you hadn't already got the car I'd have suggested something like an MX-5, they're cheaper to run in all areas, you get rear-drive and you wont have to ever ferry a bunch of drunk mates about.

Never mind. done it now. Soon as its mine and im driving it i dont think il regret it.

the plan is to pay 1700 off and get the rest out per month so i have so money left to buy some bitz

About 1500 i think, but Gary Hamilton is who i always speak to. I'm 20 at the moment, renewal quote should be here anyday, expecting it to be around 900-1000.

I may ring back and say why can't you insure me as someone i know has a policy with you at the same age on the same car...

Sounds like you're out of options.

Don't spend money on "bitz". Save it for another motor, or to run your 182.
Actually, save it to put down on next years' premium!

Insurers will decide who they'll insure for what they chose, it's all part of "treating the customer as an individual"

lol running it isn't a problem.

i get at least 550 per month with nothing coming out of that apart from phone contract and beer money.

I wont have a problem next year as its the experience side of things most people have a problem with. one said ring next year and we can open a lot of doors for you. Nay mind eh.

Sure the current owner was laughing about how he's ripped some poor lad off who can't even get insurance or something? And that it's only running on 2 cyclinders, and can only use 3 forward gears?

well although im paying abit of daft money for insurance, it does allow unlimited modifications for free so what ever i want really.

first port of call is a yozzasport exhaust (sorry joe :o ), and then eventually some AST coils, matched inlets, maxogen a cage and some buckets but one step at a time eh.

I need to get used to the car before i do anything so it will more than likely stay as it stands up there for a good 2/3 months - maybe longer.

Trade up to a Trophy, they can be had for just £7k now!

Not only would it be much better, but you wont have to have mods on your insurance and it'll probably be cheaper than what you're thinking of doing anyway.

Oh, and it'll be worth something when you finally go to sell it / trade it in.

I paid £1600 at 20 with 0ncb

I'm paying £670 at 21 with 1ncb and 3points

Both 10-month bonus accelerators though.

Luke might be worth having a nosey around on v6clio.net as I'm sure there'll be people around your age insured on the V6 which is a higher group car.

Maybe some specialist companies on there.

Although I did pay a fair bit less than you're gonna have too ;)

yes mate they couldn't offer me a quote due to my age/type of car i was insuring. the fella was very plesent about it though.

best price is 2489 i think (not at home atm so haven't got my list.) norm is on v6clio.net now for me having a hunt. going to keep trying though. Yes i know its deer as fook. bite me :) xx
