What are the main things to look out for?

Obvious service histories including Timing belts are necessary but what else?

Also found one at 2k and ive done an HPI on it. Came back 2 owners (wasn't stated in the ad) and no write-offs, etc. Its on 73k and I was wondering if anyone knew any history on it themselves, or even owned it?

HK53 OJD, had two private plates in it's lifetime, L3MGD and K30MLS.

Service history is key, they need regular oil changes or you could end up with dephaser pulley problems ( sounds like a diesel on idle once warmed up)

If it's top money I'd look at 182's tbh

I cant no afford top money haha. Fed up of the 1.2 having no guts.

Ad which I've seen, here.

Looks like a bumper respray (missing the plastic bits and a headlight washer) but hopefully that's due to stone chips, etc.

But if you have to do belts dephaser water pump etc it's gonna cost a lot on top of that.

Doesn't mention any service history etc some good ones usually in the for sale section and you know a bit more about the history

Yeh, I'm going to phone them up tomorrow and ask about service history of it anyway. If it has any great I'll go and look through it with a fine toothcomb, if not... well I won't.

If they knock money off to get things done then it will be worth a look I reckon

the car in your first link seems odd to me, it has had a front bumper respray and is missing a washer jet, just seems not quite right

the second one looks nice on first look, may be worth a proper look, i would aim for £2.4k on that car if i were to buy it but i dont think the dealer will budge alot

I bought the HK53 OJD clio sport
Be glad you didnt, i gave it a good check over and all seemed fine new brakes, engine seemed totaly spot on.
Rear disc shattered took out caliper and brake lines with it, garaged fixed it.
MOT today failed on a split ball joint boot and cracked springs (think i may have caused that when hitting a pothole)
Hope you found a better one

Doesn't sound too bad to be honest. Mine needed a cambelt a ball joint and rear discs when i bought it, i can't be arsed to change the discs yet though

Pics made it look worse tbh
The bumper has a crack on the bottom looks like parked against a curb or something
Missing headlight washer looks like had bump on that corner as slight hairline cracks in paint,
Overall though seems reasonable for the price. Once got all those bits sorted should be all good
