MarkCup's Fiesta ST

£600 is a bargain for a manufacturer approved tune. That will be a seriously quick little car, and also most likely retain OE fuel economy.

No brainier. I'd have mine booked in for the day I took delivery of the car. No question about it.

30bhp increase? For £600 and warranty stays intact? Bargain IMO. You can't get that increase from a Clio till you're spending at least 1k!

Turns out the information 'release' was not official.

Someone from Mountune has commented...

a Mountune bod said:
Not all of those details are correct I'm afraid.

A lot of it is not far off to mark - but that's not come from the press release, which comes out next week from Ford.

When you see that, you'll know the facts and performance data.

No matter what it is, it'll be worth serious consideration.

That's fantastic, in a few years I doubt there will be many about without the Mountune package ! Completely different to the last ST package, which was ~1.5k IIRC.

that sounds impressive for the money the red ST on the moving motor show stand had a mountune badge on it ;)

I'll be heading straight there once I get in on Sunday!

Turns out Top Gear magazine have a Mountune ST review too and what they say about it kind of confirms what was leaked earlier today.

getting the Mountune 180 kit for my brothers st was the best thing he ever did, he had dealings with other ''ford specialists'' and there map was horrendous. if i ever owned a ford id only take it to them

Pretty sure I saw you going down the M27 this morning, towards Fareham direction around 6.30am?

As per the upgrade and kept warranty, that is a bargain at £600 tbf.

These are growing on me, I was adamant I'd like the clio more as renault have been great at makng hot hatches for a long time now but it looks like ford have knocked them off the top spot with this one tbh.

The deals sounds pretty hard to turn down as well tbh even I've been tempted, just a shame I'm too busy saving for a house lol :(.

Idling thumbing through old ST reviews after an exhausting and scorching day at Goodwood and I came across this. Now that I've got a couple thousand miles covered, I can say this sums the Fiesta up perfectly...

"...faith in the Fiesta's controls is so immediate and heartfelt that it's all too easy to overlook the level of expertise required to render such an instantaneous level of understanding between car and driver. The distance between what you want it to do and what it actually does is infinitesimal."

Still loving mine.

I STILL can't make my mind up on the looks. One came past me on the motorway yesterday in this very colour, and it looked really tall for some reason. In the words of the mrs, 'it doesn't look very fun' which is what I've thought all along. The styling is too conservative, especially from the rear.

im sure ive read a similiar passage in a 458 article. Im sure the fiesta is good but really.. its just a well sorted warm, manual, hatchback which some would say actually "slower" than its competitors. lol at all this immediate heartfelt infinitesmial bs.

In several tests it is slower. It's also faster than its competitors in several tests. It's as 'hot' as all the others.

Why is the comment about connecting with a car that feels right bs? Have you driven one for any length of time?

What utter BS that full post is.

Utter nonsense, the car is being raved about by every respected journo around, praised as a hot hatch that we'll still be talking about in years to come! Mark's review isn't the one we're talking about, it's the reviews of people driving Mclarens and Ferraris day in day out. They know what makes a good car. Hence the reason Harry Metcalfe owns a Clio!

Agreed on the looks, apart from the wheels and tailpipe there's nothing really that marks them out from any other Fiesta.

Especially from the rear. :(

In some ways I find that appealing, but then again I think for a hot hatch the styling should make a big statement.

Its the first time I've seen this colour on the road though and it is f*cking epic.

Dont you drive an r32?

£600 seems like money well spent, I'd hoped for a bigger power increase but its still impressive @ 199bhp/ton.

I wouldn't class an R32 as a hot hatch really, would you? Can think of alot of cars I'd rather go for a 'blast' in than mine.

Of course it is. It's the top of the range/quickest "sporty" Golf going!

Drive one. It's more of an all round car that happens to be quick. Much to heavy and lacking in abit of steering feedback. Great car, but there are much better options if you want a 'hot hatch'

Maybe but to me that just means it's not a very good hot hatch lol, albeit with good trim/build etc.
