MarkCup's Fiesta ST

Don't get me wrong, it is in everyway quicker than my 182 was, and probably quite a few other hot hatches. It isn't as fun as my old 182, but I bought it because it is a far superior car in every other department.

Mountune Press Release said:
Ford Offers Focus ST and Fiesta ST with Power-Boosting Mountune Upgrades

Ford announces official power-boosting Mountune upgrades for Focus ST and Fiesta ST

Mountune Focus ST delivers 275 PS –10 PS more than a Porsche Boxster for £15,000 less – races 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than 6 seconds

Mountune Fiesta ST delivers 215 PS and springs 0-100 km/h (0-62mph) in 6.7 seconds – outsprinting Mercedes-Benz SLK 200 AMG Sport

Official upgrades can be fitted in 90 minutes or less and are covered by Ford warranty; available in selected European markets from September costing from £1,225 for Focus and £599 for Fiesta – each model still costs less than standard rivals the Volkswagen Golf GTi, and the Peugeot 208 GTi and Renaultsport Clio 200

COLOGNE, Germany, July 16, 2013 – Ford’s critically acclaimed Focus ST and Fiesta ST hot hatches just got hotter with the introduction of official Mountune upgrades.

The packages are developed by race engine and road-car performance specialist Mountune, and boost output from the Focus ST’s 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine to 275 PS; 10 PS more than from a Porsche Boxster that, at £38,237, costs £15,000 more.

Even the Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 would be left with a rear view of the Mountune-upgraded Focus ST, which can sprint from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than 6 seconds – more than half second faster than the standard Focus ST.

Ford is also offering an official Mountune upgrade for the Fiesta ST, which will increase the maximum power available to 215 PS*, enabling acceleration of 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.7 seconds, compared with 6.9 seconds on the factory model – faster than a £35,865 Mercedes-Benz SLK 200 AMG Sport 7G-Tronic Plus.

The Mountune upgrades boost both Focus ST and Fiesta ST in-gear acceleration. Peak Focus ST torque boosted to 400 Nm improves 50-100 km/h (31-62 mph) acceleration in fourth gear by 0.8 seconds to 4.9 seconds; peak Fiesta ST torque boosted to 320 Nm* improves 50-100 km/h (31-62 mph) acceleration in fourth gear by 0.7 seconds to 5.7 seconds.

Any Mountune-appointed Ford dealer will be able to fit the upgrade quickly – less than 60 minutes for the Fiesta ST, and less than 90 minutes for the Focus ST. Both are fully compatible with the Ford warranty, meaning Mountune modified vehicles continue to be covered against mechanical failure for three years or 60,000 miles from the original date of purchase.

“Ford’s ST models already deliver blistering performance – for these Mountune upgrades we have squeezed out every last drop of fun and served it on a plate to the fans that are as passionate about performance as we are,” said Tyrone Johnson, Ford Team RS engineering manager.

The Focus ST Mountune upgrade is available in silver and in black and includes a cast alloy inlet duct, high-flow air filter element, larger alloy intercooler and unique calibration. The Fiesta ST version has a re-modelled air box base with secondary inlet duct, a high-flow filter element and unique calibration.

The Focus ST Mountune upgrade costs £1,225 for silver, £1,275 for black to still come in less than the standard Volkswagen Golf GTi. The Fiesta ST Mountune upgrade costs £599**, to sell for less than both the standard Peugeot 208 GTi and Renaultsport Clio 200 Turbo models.

“We worked hand-in-hand with Ford engineers to deliver what we believe is the best bang-for-buck value on the market,” said David Moore, marketing manager, Mountune.

The Fiesta ST and Focus ST Mountune upgrades will be available in the UK in July and August respectively and selected European markets from September.

Not bad at all. Headline gains seem a bit poor, but the way it delivers it looks good.

I popped into my local Ford yesterday, Sales guy told me that they had just sold a Red ST-2, with style pack and spare wheel for £15,280.

£15,280 for a brand new ST-2. You'd be mad not too in my opinion

Looks great value, I'm close to ordering an ST on a works lease plan and have already contacted the lease firm to see what their opinion on the Mountune upgrade is. Would like to get the car first before upgrading to see the difference but I have been cheeky to see if they will add it before I get it and I'll pay for it as part of my lease.

Get it done and report back asap!!

I could get the ST-2 for £11,995, just a shame waiting list was so long.

If I had one i'd be going for that montune upgrade for sure!

I was going to ask how but I guess that's the price in Germany compared to here on treasure island.

Just reading the PH thread and they really have produced something special in this car and now this.

People of all ages with many different cars, even Ford haters love it.

Someone on FiestaSTOC booked his in at Mountune today for this kit and the chap he spoke with was quite open about what was in the pipeline...

Stage 2 in addition to the alloy airbox you get with this MP215 kit will likely include an upgraded intercooler, a different exhaust, and circa 240bhp.

I think I'm going to wait for that one...I'm quite liking mine at the moment just as it is. It's not so fast you can't drive flat out everywhere if you want yet has adequate urge to overtake anything at any speed in 5th gear.

No idea...theory is should be as good if not better than standard as at its core it's still an efficient little engine unless you're boosting it all the time.

Mine is starting to annoy me a bit now, in my 200 I could manage max economy mode driving for a full tank easy but in this, 100 miles max before I floor it. Can't help myself. Best over a full tank so far is 40mpg. Grrr, little f***er.

LOL

That was driving very very carefully though lol. I've managed an average of just under 28 in nearly 5k so not too bad.

so much fun when you boot it though, seriously surprising

I imagine the 240hp will be MR, which will not be covered by Ford.

Dark headlights on this one. I think they look great. Sounds like a pain in the arse to do though.

Another on pistonheads with an airtec intercooler fitted too and awaiting a revo map.

Not a fan. Change for the sake of change IMO. They're all at it over on fiestastoc along with the wind deflectors, coloured Ford badges/wheel centre caps and silvervisions - "makes it different innit". Err, no it doesn't. They almost all have the exact same sh*t done to them, they all look the same.

Plus, you'll be f***ed if you ever have DRL issues (which a few have already) as the dealer will know you've taken a heat-gun to your lights to split them apart...i.e. no warranty.

The light units themselves are £290 a corner if you mess up while doing it!
