Ph2 Iceburg 172
Hi all,
Decided to do a few track days this year so I sold my Project for the last four years
I love Bass feature: http://www.ilovebass.co.uk/article/183/ray-damian-caddys/
So with the caddy gone I wanted something light and fast that could handle.
As it had to be used as a daily I wanted some comforts too.
So that left me with a list of French hot hatches,
1) Peugeot 106 gti/saxo vts
2) Peugeot 306 gti-6
3) Renault 172 cup or ff
Really wanted a mint end of line 306 gti-6 but just couldn't find one and want more power then a 106..
So after looking around here for a couple of months I decided on a 172cup.
There was one for sale on here and after talking to the previous and current owners it seemed like a gem.
So booked fights for me and my mate and off went to purchase a 172 cup.
When we arrived after been up from 3.30am and travelled 350 mile we were very disappointed...
This was suppose to be one of the best cups on the market and with a asking price of £2600 you would think it would have been..
There wasn't a straight panel on it, wheels all needed a refurb, around one of the 1/4 panels was rusting, oil leaks and a drive on the way out
So to the back up plan we went..
Went to view sbridgey`s iceburg silver 172 and after a bit of haggling off we headed with the 172 for Hollyhead for the boat back to Ireland.
It was the most economical road trip ever!!!
I had it at 48mpg before I took the pic
So got it home and took some snaps before I took it apart
It drove very well on the way home apart from the leaking exhaust which will be sorted.
So give it a good wash and into the garage it went while I went parts shopping.
A lot more up-dates to follow....
