Just take it to Micks and get him to sort it? Will save you a lot of headaches surely?

I already took it there and he told me to buy a new column which I did. It didn’t fix it so was told that it could be the ecu that needed recoding. So I did that and that didn’t fix it either.

I’m gonna take it back to micks and just leave it with him to sort before I give up with it

He had it on Clip but couldn’t communicate with the steering or get a reading hence saying it needed a new column

I presume you have had all the relays and fuses out and cleaned the connections to see if they are at all faulty?

I’ve checked some but not all of them. I’m just hoping that there’s a really simple fix like a fuse, but I’m surprised mick didn’t suggest that if it was

The steering fuse is inside the little black distribution box on my kit. It’s one of the 60a ones.
Doubt it’s that though. 😬

Yeah I checked they’re all good.

Car is back at micks. All troubleshooting with Renault technical etc points to it needing a brand new steering column and ecu. Will cost about £1k 😭

Not sure it’s worth me fixing it or punting it on as it is and taking a bigger hit.

Either way I think ive had enough so will probably be up for sale.

No idea but same fault apparently which seems strange.

Yeah that makes sense, might be something as stupid as a broken wire. Finding it will be the headache.

Would have expected a second hand column and ecu to have at least done something.

The chances of them both being faulty must be slim.

I'm sure Mick will sort it, he knows what he's doing with that type of stuff.

Update from Mick - he thinks there is a short in the dash loom somewhere. Sounds like a right ball ache isolating and inspecting the loom sections.
