I'd just have the mark sorted out personally. People have been putting clearcoat with a pearl or coloured flake on their cars for donkeys years. Looked s**t on XR3i's in the late 80s it'll look even worse on a 172 IMO.

Pearl bollock flakes and w@nky lilacs are crap. That is not my opinion, that is fact. Cars do not look any better, they do not go any faster and more importantly, you'll decrease the resale value.

I guess u feel strongly about this issue, I just want to throw some money at my car have got a mate waiting for a reg plate that says mel 32e im buying her a little spoiler and thought she might look good with a new coat of fancy laquer but wanted some opinions thanks for your honesty:S

Metal flake in lacquer on everyday cars is not a good idea.

The sun heats up the metal flake thru the laquer and after a couple of years the flake sinks into the paint underneath and effectively ruins the car with sink marks. On show cars its ok as they only come outside every now and then.

If you want it to stand out then pm me and i'll give you some good ideas.

i did consider blue flakes on a silver car once, would look ok. but as was said above, respray it white. white rs's look amazing!
