I really am crap at keeping this up to date!
Since May we've continued to plod away at it, fixing, tweeking, once in a while washing it but mostly just driving it!
A few pics in order of how they happened.
Ended up going for a Sabelt wheel, iirc this is the one that came off Garys iceburg ph1 that is now Djw Daves other life partners daily.
Really like it but it is gonna need a retrim at some point in the not so distant future.
Then decided to get my wheels refurbed as Dave was also getting his done so we got a good deal. Or so I thought.
You can see why they needed refurbed, lacquer was peeling off all of them!
But the finish wasn't great and the centre caps were miles off
Still looking for new centre caps as when I took it all back and got a wheel redone and the caps repainted they melted them.
Whilst they were being redone I had been running around on a pair of winter wheels from my coupe on the back and 2 track wheels on the front, not only did it look gash the fronts were point worthy. .StevoC. is a legend though and let me borrow his willy wheels so I didnt get points and even let me use them up at Crail!
Where it ran 0.001 second slower than the best time it set before the manifold, decat and yozza. But that was with Dave driving on Michelins iirc rather than Toyos and he weighs a good 2 stone less than me. Any other excuses I think of then I'll let you know!!
Changed the washer jets to Citroen fan ones, gains tenths round Knockhill iirc
My rear exhaust hanger was beyond shagged so decided to do something about it, this may not looking pretty but its working well!
Also discovered the source of my knock on the rear nearside, a rear shock bush was done
and I figured that I bought those shocks, second hand, about 50000 miles ago and they didnt owe me much. So bought some off Stevo that have done approx 1500 miles and they'll last another 50k at least!
Been using my French plates at places like Knockhill, Crail etc and decided that whilst it wasn't worth buying new ones for that I may as well make them look a bit better for free
You can make out the difference here, the 4 hasnt been done yet
And the finished product
All done with an ancient Sharpie! Fails the 6" test but beyond that they look great, who is ever that close to a number plate anyway!
Yesterday I sanded down the silver wheels and Dave is gonna paint them so Ive got a matching set for Knockhill next weekend, pre sanded pic
And then washed both the 172 and 225. Light was fading and iphones dont make the best camera but here they are anyway
Many more pics after Knockhill to come next week
Cheers
John
