The end of a busy week for me and the Clio. As well as fixing my mums and my brothers clio I did the work to this too. Not gonna lie, the bushes were a pain in the tits! Will be quicker next time though.
Didn't take a huge amount of pics as I rather just get on with it but got a few.
Started with the wishbones, the old ones are 60k ish old and tbh, not too bad but saw no point in not changing them
Then I went onto the track rods and rod ends, thanks to @
mad in general for the loan of the tool, it made it a cinch!
These were pretty worn, which I always like, hate taking off parts to find they are fine!
So then it was onto the ARB bushes, the outers were defo spent!
And so were the inners
Managed this whilst refitting the inners
Whoops! I don't have any pics of the rack bushes but tbh, they were fine, bit shiny and 1 was worse than the other but they had plenty life left in them.
Then we went away for a couple of days in the laguna and on return it was time to do an engine and box oil change as well as fit the DS3000 and superblue that @
g172 supplied in double quick time as usual. After all that I took it to CLCM to get the alignment done. This threw up a couple of issues, firstly the left front is running 2.5 degrees of camber and the right is 1.5. No camber bolts fitted and obviously a brand new balljoint so thats a bit weird. Annoyingly though the track rods are bottoming out on the ends and its having to run toe in atm. I'll have to cut 5mm or so off each one to allow toe out. Irritating when its brand new genuine parts but I guess Renault just don't quite cater for ph1s as well as they used to!
Still, it drives straight and tight so onto the spanner check for the 4 hour OPL at Knockhill. This is when I noticed the rear pads were finished
So off I go to buy some £9 cheapies from the local factors. Come back home to fit them and notice the wheel well is soaking wet, figure its been a wet day but thats very wet. Fit the pads and then connect the eezibleed as I may as well flush them whilst I'm here. Thats when I see brake fluid pishing out of the pipe just where the handbrake cable runs over it. f**k! No decent pipes anywhere to do a straight swap but @
Fraser.J. very kindly came over from Fife with a brake flaring kit and joined a ph2 pipe I had lying about to the good bit still attached to my car. Got it all sorted and the track day was back on, I'd call him a true gent but we all know thats a lie x
Get the other brakes bled and call it a night about 8, or 1 hour after the family dinner was meant to start!
Quite a few pics that have been linked to here
www.facebook.com/cliosportscotland but the stand out one has to be this one from @w33_brl who caught a very accidental slide!

The others are on FB so I don't think I can hotlink to them but theres a few really good ones by various folk so thanks for that.
At the end of the day I had done
track miles at an average of
whilst getting
And it would seem we stopped just at the right time! The front left did not have long left at all!
Got a few videos that I'll tack together as well but it was a great day and good to see new and familiar faces there.
The car is now just about to tick over 106k and hopefully a lot of this work will see it going for another 100k!
