Paul the cars is gonna be nice when its done i wish i had the room to have a project like that, i take it your having it re-sprayed in blue and not some stupid colour?

DazOrz 25.4 mm is an inch so 30mm is more like 1 1/4 inch

MC yes blue ofcourse!

Torsion bars are a bit of a pain TBH, but yes you can pretty much get any height you want.....

Paul

yes sorry i didnt mean u cant do it without adjusting the torsion bars ! i meant u can set the height to pretty much what u want, not 1 click 35mm etc 2 click 80mm etc just a case of sliding the torsion bar out enough then jacking the arm up by the amount required! then insert bar and re-check

^^^

If I put the 35mm springs on the front and drop the back an inch (25mm) will it a: handle wierdly and b: look silly?

I dont want the back down 35mm as I think its too far.

most ppl ive spoke to recomend that the back is about 10mm higher then the front, on my williams there is about a 10mm difference front to back(back higher) looks alright to

its up to u though, see how u feel with the handling only u can decide on that, u drive it! same with looks thats up to u again,

only recently we set-up craggys vts with the back about 10-15mm higher then front(his choice) went to oulten park and out handled most cars there , although his isnt a std car, has bilstein dampers/springs with pugsport t/bars etc, and a LSD, but its up to u how u have it, imo ur better off with its slightly higher but again its your choice!

Hi All,

Bit more update for you.

Clios engine and box has been removed.

http://www.infinicar.com/williams/14.jpg

Been left on a rolling chassis to prepare for re-spray. Jobs whilst engines out include removing PAS rack and replacing with manual item, remove and repaint subframe wishbones etc, replace all brake components replace bushes and sort out interior.

http://www.infinicar.com/williams/21.jpg

Alot of cleaning up and replacement to do whilst engines out. Generally in good order, very little rust. Signs of accident damage previously include fresh paint on wings and front panels. Inner wings/turrets appear to be original. Subframe has been bent where someone has previously jacked the car up on it......

http://www.infinicar.com/williams/16.jpg

The dreaded roll pin didnt come out on this one. Had to remove driveshaft with engine. Still wont budge. Will need machining out.

http://www.infinicar.com/williams/17.jpg

Let the fun begin. Lots of playing about and cleaning to do on this....

Car and engine is now back in my garage....will continue with pics next week as the engines stripped.

Cheers

Paul

Loaded and prepped ready to go to Bodyshop on Friday......boots been changed due to severe rust - this was taken from our old track car which happens to have our web address sprawled across the window! We also took the door handles/locks etc out after pics were taken. I have also decided to ditch the manual steering idea......

Will be out in a couple of weeks. Williams wheels being refurbed.
