No contribution from VW, my mechatronics unit was beyond repair so had to buy a new one. The specialist I was using couldn't beat VW's price, and tbh I was just so fed up of the situation that I just told them to fix it.
And no the front bumper isn't standard. Looks quite OEM though imo hence why it has stayed.

FYI on the c63 front, budget £150 a week in fuel if you're doing 15k per year in one. I could empty the tank in a few hours with no trouble. The fuel bill is about the same as my mortgage loll.
Insurance isn't to bad, I got mine on my 27th birthday and it was £750 for the year, fully comp with the gf as named driver.
Tyres last about 4-7k due to the aggressive geo.
Front discs and pads from the dealer are circa £2000 (a mate/lad I know just has the fronts and rears done)
I would say the costs are 2/3 times more to run that my r32 I had and about double my M3. Amazing cars through. I haven't found anything that can outpace me yet and 'that noise' oh and saloon ftw!!
Don't forget the VED lol

Servicing isn't to bad, main dealer A service is about £300 and B service is about £600 so about the same as Renault lol!
The fuel and tyres are heavy but some big range rovers and q7's consume about the same! I have a facelift v8 range rover for about 8 months and the costs were about the same. I know q7s EAT rear tyres!

The first years VED will have been included in the purchase price and as said it will be circa £490 per year.
I think with a C63, you can over look all the silly running costs as it's an awesome all rounder whereas for me, my FFRR is very hard to get past the shockingly bad fuel consumption.

And in regards to the boot, it isn't as big as you'd think. It certainly isn't small, but my mates Focus ST has considerably more room in his boot.
the difference the rear diff makes in bot space is outrageous. comparing it to a GTI the boot is tiny. still plenty big for what i need lol
really like this i must say!
in some respects i think if i'd went for a mk5 R32 i'd maybe be keeping it!
i've always preferred the mk6 R and i've always wanted one since starting my apprenticeship lol
glad i've owned one but sorta wish i never had if that makes sense lol
im going full shitbox and going to save for a house / spend money on myself rather than a car lol

I prefer the MK6 R in every other aspect bar the engine. The MK6 is better in every single way except for the lump under the bonnet. Will no doubt be quicker, but is no where near as special.
I've never once regretted it, loved every minute. And despite it being a Golf with 2 exhausts, the attention it gets always suprises me.

I really like these still. I'm only using the 182 as a weekend car, how would you compare this to the 182? I know a lot of people regret leaving them.

I would say it is completely down to how you use your 182 of a weekend. For sheer fun and smile factor, my old 182 beats this hands down. But in the end it was abit of a one trick pony as it didn't do anything else too well. I very rarely drive anywhere like my pants are on fire, so at the moment the Golf suits me perfectly. Comfortable, (heated recaros in a morning are actually comfier than my bed) plenty of toys and fast enough when you need it. And in my personaly opinion, there is no better sounding car for the money. Quite like how understated it is aswell. To most it is just a Golf, but it gets alot of attention from people who know.
Its only downfall is economy, especially in the colder weather. I can average around 25ish driving like a preist, 17-20 at best if you look at the throttle. And above 75mph on the motorway and you will never see 30mpg. But to buy an R32 and moan about fuel would be insane.
For a balls out drive on a sunday morning, 182 100% wins. For everything else it honestly isn't in the same league.
