Rear number plate issues

When I was down in Pompey last week (graduation), parked my Clio up in possibly not the nicest of areas! Anyway the next day my number plate was hanging a lot lower, almost resting on the rear bumper. No problem, just stuck it back on.
This morning, back at home (just outside Watford) and the number plate is on the floor?!

Either I'm being targeted by silly chavs or it needs some new adhesive/whatever. Can anyone recommend the best way of fixing it? It seems to have had sticky pads used and velcro in the past but neither seem to be working!

Extra strong double sided sticky foam tape.

3M double sided glue tape. It will stick you to the ceiling by your forehead...

Available in WHSmiths, B&Q etc. at about £4.99 for a roll

or if you have the holes, just screw it on

Velcro coins are doing it for me at the moment.

Never had a problem with Velcro coins.

I do have screws so may eventually just drill holes. I got some adhesive sticky pads from an independent motor shop and the guy who owns it swears by them so have given them a try. If it fails, then the drill is coming out!
