Reattaching Lower inlet manifold

  Golf GTD Mk7
Is there an easier way of doing this? Was a pain in the arse to get off. There are two nuts right under the alternator bracket which were a b**ch to undo. I'm just worried i'll not be able to tighten them up enough. Any tips?

it is fairly easy, just a pain in the arse, if you look at my guide to matching the inlets yourslef, i ended up hoisting the engine out or ease of access. but wouldnt recommend,

cant you just take the front panel off, slam panel i think its called were the bonnet latch connects to? should give you abit more room :)

loosen drivers side mount or even undo it, then jack the engine on the sump a little to get clean access to the bolt.

It's not the side bolt I going to have issues with. It's the ones which are obscured by the alternator bracket. There are two of them at the top and bottom I think, drivers side. I jacked the engine up slightly on one side to get to the side one.

It's not this that gets in the way really mate. But i did think about removing that :)

not really danny, its the alternator bracket in the way. So have to go in at an angle. Presumably you can't remove this without messing with the belts?

I'm not really sure which ones you mean? I've never had a problem with it tbh, the only slight pain is the side one which wants the engine raising slightly but thats no biggie either tbf.

the two bolts furthest left as you look at it. Very awkward to loosen I found, so replacing them will be interesting. Not the best space to get to them really.

Can't remember the last time i changed one without the belts off at the same time. think if you take off the brace from alternator top bolt to block it'll help, and use a UJ on an extension or a bar with a wobble end. Sure it goes in there

thats how I undid it, with a bendy end ;) but don't think i'll be able to get the right tightness on it.

Danny you saying that the bar which supports the alternator to the engine can be removed without compromising the aux belt?

Everytime someone has asked that in a few threads, nobody has replied :(

I just use a long extension with a universal joint.
The snap on extensions have wobble ends on them too which gives you slightly more flexibility to get at the bolts

Cool, anyone got pics on what needs removed? lol

I wouldn't want to make a balls of things
