Scotts 172 cup

  172 cup
So after a year of procrastonating and buying crap cars, i finally bit the bullet and flew from belfast to middlesbrough to buy this lovley 172 cup.

I spoke to 10 different people and went over to sheffield for a 182 2 weeks ago to find out it was a heap, so it tooksome serious amout of worrying to get the balls to go over in such a short space of time, but thankfully it might just have paid off as this seems to be a great wee car.

Its got:
ported and matched inlets
182 manifold and decat
Kteck stealth exaust(not really very stealthy)
Cooksport springs
Uprated engine mounts
Uprated discs and pads
Proxy rear toyo front tyres
Front strut brace

72k with all the belts done last month and it seems to be taken care of.
My plan is to change the mounts for standard and polybush them as the whole car feels like its shaking itself to death and fit an ARB

Changed the oil and oil filter and got a few bits of the bay painted/ polished, no pictures as yet.

Today i also decided to hit a bit of plastic on the motorway @75mph luck i had a bit of a swerve or it could have been a lot worse! New splitter, plastic covers underneath, and a bumper painted required.

After hitting plastic on the motorway on friday, a gsxr1000 thought he would fight my month old cup this afternoon, and unfortunatly came away the winner. Looks like CSS will be cancelled for me unless the insurance will fix this. Completley gutted.

Hopefully you'll get it sorted.
1*2's are pretty scarce in n. Ireland.
I brought two over with me last year.

So i got my cup back last tuseday and was the happiest chap after getting it fixed to a very high standard, there isnt even a hint that it was hit after alot of inspection. They even fixed my dodgy bumper and i asked them just to throw on a splitttr from a 1.2 or something untill i got sorted, which they did .

So i get into the car on the wedensday and it runs like a complete bag o crap, ive a miss on cylinder 3 waheyy! It gets treated to new plugs and coilpack. Makes no change so i give it a new injector after swapping things about and after i bit of fiddling it finally works! Hopefully for more than 24 hours this time

But i treated it to a new sticker and some shiney things.

Next on the list is a fuel rail guard(as the previous owner mustave needed a paperweight or something so removed it), an engine carbon clean, and a cheeky remap!

Last week i washed and sealed the whole motor, had the wheels off an all. proper job. It was off to a charity event in aid of the NI childrens hospice where i won £80 worth of window tinting from 'Adatint'. Ive used this guy before and he does a real good job, but i dont want my windows tinted!! Anyways heres he car all clean ft. Me

I also bought a load of goodies. Going to get the oil changed again, change the gearbox oil and do a full coolant flush and change. Maybe see what i can do about a rotten radiator bracket aswell.

Cats looking great, especially after that gay biker bummed it. Are you keeping it oem? Too many 1*2's getting broken or stripped for track work oem ones are going to be rare in a few years.

Thats the plan! I love how it looks. It might get treated to coilovers but other than that i dont see much sense in doing anything else. Back seats might come out for a carpet aswell mind you

Yep its finally happened, b14s are here. Motamec covers orderd, acf 50 spray in the post. Hopefully be fitted by mid May!

Coilovers and new topmounts courtesy of kamracing - top notch quick service, good price too!

Since the last post ive been to 'carmanic' in carrickfergus for a wheel referb as the paint was chipping away from the wheel, previous owner wasnt really bothered about a proper refurb but its all been sorted now and looking mint.

Got talking to a guy local who details cars and said to him about getting a new splitter, turns out he has a fabia one from his old 182 cup sitting hes willing to give me! So after coilovers are fitted a detail is on order and fitting the splitter.

Watch this space guys, its getting real, not gonna give too much away till this stuff is done [emoji106]
