Anymore info on the Prizemotorsport drives Sonny ?
Good luck with the start on the new job.
Keep me posted on the engine refresh
Going to have a day out with us then Colin?
Not tempted to go high compression Sonny?
Yes it will be interesting having never driven one without it, but its something I have been wanting to do for a while now. What cams are you thinking Tom?Interested to see how you get on without the VVT. I'm debating what to do with my forged engine, would be a waste not putting some BIG cams in down the line.
ha yes it will be, time I moved the car into its next phase, a ktec map wasn't going to cut it this seasonAll sounds good Sonny, this season should be interesting!
The vvt makes no difference as its active above 1500rpm on a standard car anyway so the cam is always advances, mine idles about 1500rpm anyway!Interested to see how you get on without the VVT. I'm debating what to do with my forged engine, would be a waste not putting some BIG cams in down the line.
I've been looking at the usual 422/423 but I've also been considering using a 197/200 dephaser with catcams 404 and mapping in the continuous vvt controlYes it will be interesting having never driven one without it, but its something I have been wanting to do for a while now. Is it that high due to lacking vvt?Mines idling as low as it'll go without stalling at approx 1300-1400rpm but yours might be different on those bodies.
Russ
Still have vvt on my 421's it's the throttle bodies that make it idle high, even just off the throttle stop there's a fair amount of air passing into the engine hence the idle being higher. Is it that high due to lacking vvt?
Pissing in the wind mate. Valves are shrouded heavily on a 1*2 head so any gains the cams can possibly give will be held back by that.I've been looking at the usual 422/423 but I've also been considering using a 197/200 dephaser with catcams 404 and mapping in the continuous vvt control
I really need to stop reading all these threads about starting to race, really makes me want a go!
I really would like to. It's kind of a longer term plan. Only got the car last October, picked it up cheap as it hadn't had an oil change in 45k miles... Intended it to be a track car, did Snetterton twice and now it's stripped and sat in the garage waiting for a roll cage from the mark fish group buy. Planning to try to keep it MSA spec as I go along.
Budget isn't massive so trying to spread the cost out but still enjoy track days in the process. Can't decide if I should spend money on the engine, had intended to blow it up then sort a more loved one to replace it.
Sorry sonny, stealing your thread with my life story!
