This is brads engine from this site...

just thought I would share the pics of the engine which is essentially complete now..

he is simply having a std build, for a conversion into his 1.4 rt shell.... with an unusual gearbox choice!!!! (that is causing me a headache)

using the AD4 box?

get yourself down the scrappy and get the flex plate etc from a 1.8/2litre auto laguna, box as well if you don;t have it.

PS that inlet manifolds dirty inside, your letting us down;)

not dirt... ;-) just acid staining... not removed by the cleaning process....

however as you spotted it, future ones will be plated internally to keep the customer happy..

flex plate on the way...

looks like its coming from a scenic....

just chris really as Ambers up the house and never looks on here, ask ben why I use that name now.

I got some stuff that is THE cleanign gear to have. Aquawash 100+, 75 litre drum, bright orange, says dilute heavily btu I use it straight its the easiest stuff I have used and doesnt stain. Heres a pic of a cam carrier half done with it, painted on with a toothbrush then rinsed off

Ben I really am gonna have to kick your arse one day.

Aquawash 100+, Simon gets it for his business, if you google it you only get american links but you obviously get it in this country. Your meant to dilute it with water and make a big bath for stuff and it works but it takes longer, used straight put it on and it starts lifting straight away then rinse off and its nice and clean. Its a strong detergent.

Does it make mine the rareist of the bunch as mines GDid but not painted;). Mines just sat in all its glory:D (Wouldnt mind a GDi sticker for the rocker cover thou;))

Keep up the good work both of you, im selling the 182 and going back to the Hybrid for a few months so will no doubt be seeing a bit more of you boys.

woah god damn!!! i saw this in the flesh today and it looked...

many nice, Q! (in the pimp my ride accent)

they were just prepping the gearbox and just about to fit it all into the car. the auto-electrician is in tomoro and they got a few other bits to sort out - brakes, etc...

shouldnt take too much more time to do so im hopin and prayin that it will be ready for the Hertfordshire meet (7th August). my fingers are very tightly crossed!

Ben - as Andy is on holiday, could you shed any light on the gearbox and ECU that are being used with my engine?

Andy didnt know a few days ago but thought they were comin from a Scenic...

IMO, you couldnt of caused more of a headache lol.

There will be a lot of niggles to sort out.

seriously tho, i really do appreciate everyones hard work on my car. i guess its safe to say its 1 of a kind? ;)

fred, if you find a gearbox that fits and doesnt break within a year, then, and only then, ill buy u a half glass of diet coke - actually make that kwik save value coke - with added water! ;) (money is really tight at the mo)

just to keep everyone updated, the scenic box didnt fit into the car so now GDI have gone back to searchin for another gearbox.

so for those of you that are going to the hatfield meet on the 7th, youll see me in the micra courtesy car! :oops:

everyone,

weve now gone for a very rare box (bacara) which GDI have managed to get their hands on.

should be delivered in the next couple of days and then its time for fitting so ill keep everyone updated.

hopefully lookin at gettin the car back late this week - if not, sometime next week

so the clio coming to the hatfield meet (7th) is still a possibility! :D
