Such thing as a clio 1.8 rt?

  mk1 ph2 1.4
Been looking around for a faster car for the lowest price poss, when the insurance runs out in march. Looking on parkers I found a there's a mk1 clio 1.8 rt 1991-94 or something liek that. Well its got 95 brake or something but only grp7 insurance, sound perfect as a 'next step up' from the 1.4rt as ive been quoted around 100 more than the 1.4!
Anyone know what theyre like, i mean its going to be no valver, and slightly worse than the rsi but still must have potetial, although they do seem a bit rare...

So opinions guys and girls?

cheers,
chris

Yes there is such a thing....think they only made them in 5-door. quite hard to come by a good one, would definatly be worth your while coming up with the extra and buying an rsi or valver.

Ok cheers for replies. reason i ask is i found one for £350, so £300 to buy, although no mot,tax due to them leaving the country or something. Ive asked whats its like anyway and ill see what they say and maybe have a look.
Id love a rsi or valver but im only 18 and at college so funds are v low! how much do you think an rsi would be with 1 years no claims at 18? im thinking £2000+ which is errr...lots.

  mk1 RSi
im 18 just gone from a 96 1.4 RT, to a 94 1.8 RSi, ive got 1 year driving experiance, 0 NCB and i pay 950 TPFT w/ breakdown cover with bell.

Wtf? am i missing out on something here? i think its because i only passed 6-7 months ago. soon as i said i had my licence for a year down came the quote, by like half lol.
although how did you get insured for only 950 on bell blitz? by years driving experience do you mean youve held a full licence for a year? still a v low quote!
and 18, williams, 2300??? how!?? very jealous...

There is such a thing as a 1.8rt, I had one for a short while, not a bad car but it was a 5 door so I never kept it for too long. Think the 1.8rsi would be a better option.

I've heard that the 1.8RT isn't that much of a step up and really just drinks more juice. The RSi would be a better bet. 1.8 MPI with 110bhp iirc.

  S2000
as above they do exist but they are very rare and only come in 5-door. I've heard more bad things about them than good tbh as a few say they aren't that much quicker and that they are also pretty crap for fuel consumption.
