My 172 cup seems quite skittish on the back. Say cruising at 60 round a very slight corner, hit little bit of uneven ground n the back end starts gettin happy. My tyres are horrendous at the moment as im about to change em but could it be anything else or does the slightly stiffer suspension mean this is notmal?

What rear dampers are you running? If it's standard they may well be fooked.

Open the boot, stand on it and bounce each side. Or better compare to a different one.

Either that or disconnect the bottom shock bolt on the rear axle and see if there's any resistance when you push them up.

Check your damper part numbers if they are readable. You may even have 172 dampers on the back. Although I've found the Cups proper rears more tail happy in a really nice controllable way.
