Technical Info needed - RenaultSport Clio

  Nissan Pulsar N14 SSS
Hi All,:D

Makin' the move to the New Cup (when one arrives in Australia this 2006)..

I need to read up on the DIY maintenance for the engine, barkes, transmisison, etc... and Haynes don't have a manual...:S

Anyone know where I can find this stuff, either in book form or on the net...?

Would be appreciated...

:)

Welcome to CS

As the car is not even released yet or order books even open, this will be why you can't find any information on it yet.

Some of the guys on here have this info for the current models, such as all the specific data on the 182, it's suspension differences, exhausts etc. I guess the data like this for the new model will follow on its release.

Hi there,

You can buy the Renault Clio Dialogy cds off ebay, they are the Renault workshop manuals. Do a search for dialogys or it might be dialogies.

There nothing out for the brane new RS clio the 197ghp one the Renault delaers don't have details yet.
The dialogue CDs on ebay are about 18 month old and don't even cover the 182.

Thanks for all for the cordial hellos...:D

I have just found out that the new Clio Cup won't be in Australia until late 2006, but that's what I want...

I live in Brisbane on the East Coast of Oz. The terrain here is very undulating with tight corners and curvey streets... should be happy hunting ground for a Clio RenaultSport...

I fell in love ;) with the new Cup the moment I saw a pic of it. I always thought the 182 Cup was cute, but this new babe has taken me...

I like to do my own service, basic stuff, like fluids, filters, lubrication, and brakes, etc.

Well, I can wait until late this year, and I'm lookin' forward to the release in Europe.

Cheers,

Phil.:)

Its still the same engine isnt it? so all the fluid changes etc should be similar/same.

Will have to wait and see on the brakes

Haynes will of course make a wicked manual for it when it comes out.
They won't make one they have never done for the Williams or 172/182. The market is to small for a dedicated one the noral car manual will cover 99% of it.

If you want a haynes then you need to buy an escort or some vauxhall.
The basic stuff should'nt be a million miles away form a 182 but as edde says its got a different block so who knows.
Welcome to the site mate...

It shouldn't need chnaging for a long long time.
Its most likly the internal tank type although some cars came with the external tank type.

It doesn't need changing till 150k according to Renault but some have been done at 100k by owners.

renault told me it was 100k but if it's post o2 it will be in the tank like edde says an you have to replace the whole pump,if it aint broke don't try and fix it i say

I see you have an N14 SSS.

I had a N15 SSS.

I thought I'd do do one of two things. Either upgrade the SSS's SR20DE engine to the 190 bhp VTEC version by buying an imported Japanese SR20VE and swapping the head over. Or save myself all the trouble of driving a modified car by trading it in and getting a Clio Sport 172, which'd be about as quick standard as the SSS would have been modified.

I decided to get the Clio Sport.

It was the worst car buying decision I've made in my life.

Sad to hear you'd made the mistake of choosing the Renault option too. After driving a Nissan you'll pretty quickly realise how badly the Europeans engineer and build and service their cars. You'll pretty quickly realise you'll be continually putting your hand in your pocket to get things fixed. That the lazy don't-give-a-damn way they build them they're worse than the worst modified car.

But the good news is you'll get one Nissan part. The 6-speed Nissan gearbox they put in the 197 because the Renault one it such a piece of garbage that won't reliably take the power of the 2 litre engine. And hopefully despite Renault taking control of Nissan it might be Renault that is learning how to engineer and build cars from Nissan.

Oh, and there's a Clio Sport forum in Australia:

BMW are european
Mercedes are european
Porsche are european
Ferarri are european
Need I go on...........

To judge the whole european car industry by Renaults standards is a bit over the top

The 197 box was desinged by Renault and Nissan its a shared effort 60% Renault I think effort in.
The French seem to have a way of building fun car Nissan doesn't make the Micra as fun as the Clios are and for this plain and simple reason I'd buy the French car. Also there very similar cars sharing parts.
There is no company today IMO that truly deserves there repuation of a quality product TAXI are possible the only company. I know of enough problems with Audi/Bentley/Nissan/BMW/Volvo/Saab/Mini to make you thing twice about paying the extra or paying the price in other ways for one.
