To fit this then do i just leave the existing 90degree hose that's coming out there - it seems to have another outlet (at the top near the water bottle in the 1st pic) I presume that needs to stay - what is this for as some @imprezaworks doesnt seem to have this on his blue silicon hose?

Also in the second pic do i just get rid of all that gubbins of the accordian type hose that goes down behind the front bumper?

Thanks a lot.
Justin.

Yeah mate keep the top pipe that connects to the throttle body unless you have a silicone hose? & yeah can keep the oe air feed if you like or take it out.i removed all of mine & the accoustic valve.

Cheers, so the oe air feed isnt joined to the airbox that I'm going to remove? I haven't really looked down there too much yet :)

Hi All,
Have a 182 Trophy with standard airbag (ITG filter) and scorpion exhaust. Missing the noise factor grunt so considering this setup.
Having read everyones posts etc, can someone kindly put a link to the :
- Pipe required, both Ebay (ASH) and Demon Tweeks if possible
- The Ramair filter (I do not one the large one, simply want it to fit well). eBay or Ramair link

Would be nice to source all the bits that keep the filter in tact like the kit that Ramair sell for the 182. I would consider purchasing the Ramair kit because of these bits but the description does not make it clear in that the filter sits near the battery. Basically I don't see the extension 90 degree pipe work included.

Thanks

appologies if this is in wrong thread.. just wondered if anyone else has experienced this when adding to bog standard 172, ive had this fitted now for a week or so, ive did a shake down test for my car last week, the noise is epic...
what i have noticed, or i may have only just noticed now is that if i stab the throttle or feather it in gently at first my revs drop and its like my engine would stall but then it kinda sorts its self out and revs cleanly.. it only does it from tick over rpm... if you hold throttle at say 3k revs it revs cleanly...
car is bog standard map, and exhaust... when i fitted this i pulled the carbon filter and sealed the pipe from the inlet...
my other clio admittedly i have no idea what map but it has rs inlets and ktec stealth, and air con delete revs completely clean and feels faster & freeer..
is this something a map would sort out? i have the rated engine dynamics just down the road from me...

Hi All,
Just received the 182 Kit from Ramair and now waiting on the pipe. Given that the filter is designed to be close to the throttle body, I will be relocating it to the battery area via the pipe. Will the filter supplied be ok for the battery area. The filter is offset. Just wondering whether its going to be a very tight fit.

I will obviously find out when I try but if anyone could let me know that would be great.

Thanks

Stupid question here, removed my old airbox to fit my induction kit, and struggling to remove the cold air feed which goes down by the passengers side headlight

Can I remove this without taking the bumper off?

Tbf my ramair filter will fit on top of it if I lay it across, but then there's no point as it's taking air away from the filter

Got mine all fitted:

From what I've seen most cable ties there's to the bracket running along the side of the battery and onto the ECU, but I found if I did that the metal pipe would actually stop the bonnet from shutting properly!

So I've cable tied it down onto a hole below the metal pipe, next to the headlight - which pulls it down which I don't think will be a bad thing as there is more room and closer to the CAF.

Literally gone for a 2 minute drive, and bear in mind I've got a full straight through decat system which is seriously loud, and a stripped out interior, so I'm not going to be hear it as obvious as most!

But in my very quick blast, from 3k+ revs upwards you can hear it - a lot more noticeable with the windows down but that just due to my exhaust I think

Sounds epic though, really does sound awesome! Interestingly though it seems the noise dies down at certain revs, for example 3800-4200, but just the noise as such doesn't seem to be a flat spot

So I'll see what it's like over the next couple of days over a 100miles or so, and share my thoughts

Was the CAF pipe easy to remove Jimbob? I will probably leave my acoustic valve, not too bothered. Im waiting on the aluminium pipe now. Have the kit in hand (went for the 182 kit rammer). Was posted 2 days ago. Looking forward to fitting!

Can someone link me to what i need for my phase 1 please. I'm having trouble accessing any previous posted links annoyingly!

I'd prefer the silicone hose as opposed to the metal one if someone could be so kind!

Will use my laptop for the links when i get home! Thanks lads!

CBA reading the whole thread but I have a fatty kit and it sounds epic, love the sound of an n/a with metal intake, they resonate. So much nicer sounding than TC cars IMO. My old ep3 with AEM RSX CAI was epic.

@Danny_172

2 x 90 degree bends, 70mm

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Auto-Silico...086576?varId=431063786095&txnId=1216063093003

Ally joiner for the silicone pipes. If you buy a filter that has no neck, you will need another one of these to go from the filter to the silicone pipe.

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluminium-A...r-Swaged-Beaded-Long-/190884993451?nav=SEARCH

I had this filter on my ph1. Sounded awesome and looks oem.

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/ITG-JC60-67-cone-filter-o-d-70mm-/152099450638?nav=SEARCH

Obviously it's your choice of filter but make sure it has a 70mm outside diameter on the neck or or at the end if your using a joiner.

15mm breather filter. Obviously any colour you want.

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Chrome-Blue...-Oil-Crankcase-Small-/350495839874?nav=SEARCH

Pipe for breather filter off the ICV. Select 16mm.

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/310793012250

And jubilee clips for all the parts. These can be had at halfords. You'll need 60-80mm for the filter/silicone pipes and 18-22mm for the breather/ICV.

Then you can have this:

Can use whatever one you want. I current have a pipercross one, but going to swap for a bigger ramair or itg one as I don't really like his one.

As long as it's got a 70mm neck/joiner to go into the silicone pipe you be fine.

The silicone pipe requires cutting. Hold on and I'll drop another picture in here of where.

Yes it wasn't too bad - just need to sort of unclip it from the bottom and give it a fair old pull, mine took quite a bit of effort but just pulled straight off

Had mine on for 3 days or so now and I'm undecided...almost sounds like a Honda coming onto V-Tec, seems to almost give a loud 'hmmm' then the roar I was hoping for

Wondering if these Silicone hoses rather than metal bend would give a different noise?
