Will do, got a decat to fit same time but will try the filter first and go for a drive then fit decat day after.

Will post my review:cool:

I'm guessing once you remove the air box the notorious acoustic valve will no longer come into play?

On a another note does just fitting a decent panel filter and removing the acoustic valve not have a similar effect/sound to all this?

Gonna experiment if the stuff comes today

So in other words it'll lose one or two of its horses with this kinda set up... The plus being it'll sound mental :smilingimp:

no as fatty, and ktec have both found proven gains from this system! mainly due to the location of the filter! if the filter was located else where then gains would drop yes!

for example

this would make a lot of noise, but would suck up all the hot air from the engine heat

Yeah I Supose so... They did test the piper cross which has it's own heat shield and what I assume is still the standard air feeds so there should be no heat soak and it was still down on the original panel filter read out?

The ktr set up like this suggest they get a few more horse power so guess thats probably right.... Could take the headlight out for extra cold air :tongueclosed:

As above. .the filter location shown on that pic will.have a lot of head soak thus losing power. But with some extra pipe.work as per fattys initial post you can locate the filter behind the passenger headlight eliminating heat soak as its getting plenty of cold air in this location. At least that is the theory and apparently has been proved. Im having no power.loss with . mine at the moment. Still was for.other peoples verdicts.

I have been using a viper with a cold air feed, and have ordered this set up so I will be able to give my Input on the difference once I have mine set up! the thing with the viper will be the actual filter size, the surface area will be smaller so less air will get though? from what I understand again, correct me if in wrong!

also see this for my test I carried out (posted a few pages back) http://www.cliosport.net/threads/1-...ter-a-short-article-reveals-the-truth.699570/

If you took the headlight out and focused the airflow directly onto the filter, you would in-effect have a real 'ram air' system with like .2 boost at 70mph. think you might get pulled by the old bill though...

Is anyone leaving the original air flow pipe (to air box) in place or are we removing it to maximise the air it gets?

  Arctic 182
Right so I got the hose out.
BUT..... I'm ready to chuck the f**king lot in the bin. It's so goddamn tight it unreal. I know they have changed it a bit from Fattys original one but JESUS CHRIST. I'm raging here, so wound up. I assumed it would be a nice easy fit. Unless I'm an utter t**t then no. Proper aggro. My filter is bent to hell trying to squeeze it in behind the light. My new pipe is scratched so bad from the battery cover bracket. I've cut myself 3 times and I'm done. The pipe neck is SO TIGHT on the filter. Don't think it can fit.

You serious? ? Mine was like a hot knife through butter literally 5 mins job done. What on earth are you doing. It took me longer to walk to my car than the actual job. Drop us a picture of it.all

  Arctic 182
No idea mate. I'm proper struggling. Don't know if they've sent me something wrong or I'm just a massive bell piece. It just won't fit in. How are you getting the pipe in place past the battery?

  Arctic 182
Yeah I've had the clip on & off, up & down, every way. I can't force it in without bending the mesh inside the filter. Seems ridiculously tight tbh. Just getting defeated at the mo
