I had the misfortune of taking my Sister in laws (no) polo to get a rear camera fitted earlier
f**k me it's awful inside. It's 10 years old and it feels so cheap in comparison to my 18 year old E60. Zero clutch feel, zero steering feel, zero power and the speakers and interior is f**king woeful
I think the only saving grace is that it cost me £55 to brim it and that will last her over a month. Getting back in the E60 I almost put myself through the windscreen when I went to brake🤣

The Audi S1 has been a brilliant car second for the past 3 years but with baby number 2 on its way, it’s just not practical anymore.
Looked at a few different options (Tiguan R, Macan GTS etc.) but the wife decided on an RSQ3 in Turbo Blue. In that colour, “Estate” form and Vorsprung spec, they seem to be fairly rare. Hopefully pick this up in the new year.
If anybody is interested in a very high spec Audi S1, let me know.

Can anyone tell me if on Mk6 and Mk7 folfs, if they don't have heated seats, whether the loom is there in the car and just needs the switch panel installed? I see loads of GTis/Some R's with cloth seats and very few seem to be spec'd with heated seats. Just wondering if it's an easy retrofit if you can get the seats and panel from a breaker?

Has anyone got an RCD360 head unit in a t5? Ive got one, around 3 years old I think now. Randomly, my phone will still connect to it via Bluetooth, but if I make a call or someone calls me, there's no sound.
I can't hear them, they can't hear me. I've reset the unit and re-paired my phone to it, but its still doing the same thing. Its the same whether I try when connected to android auto or not. The rcd360 I think is a ripoff of the 330.

Done some further digging on Golfs recently as the BM is really starting to show it's miles, so needs replacing sooner rather than later.
Me and the missus had sat and discussed this previously and a budget of £12-13k was set (although I always search up to £14k, happy to stretch budget a little). We had initially decided on a Mk7, but they are all quite leggy or poorly specced at that price range, with heated seats (a must for the missus) being barely ever optioned. I'm done with high mileage cars. Then after further digging, they use the EA888 engines, and whilst some people say they are bullet proof, there's plenty of reports of timing chain/tensioner issues, along with thrust brearing failure, causing the cranks to walk etc.
Then I had the idea of a Mk6. It's basically a facelift of the MK5 which used the EA113 engine which has a cambelt (albeit a chain bridging the cams, but that seems a simple job). Despite me telling @Poopensharten I didn't like the Mk6, the looks have actually quite grown on me after searching, In white, that front bumper looks (a bit) like the W12 concept car
There's a few low mileage imported ones about, and a quick insurance quote shows it's cheaper than the BM. Then, after further digging, it turns out that the Mk6 actually uses the EA888 engine. FFS. Back to square one. Or so I thought.
Weirdly, the Mk6 R actually kept the EA113 engine, and so did the Edition 35. For me, I'd be happier with a older, but lower mileage car, as long as it's been looked after/serviced, and then there's some cash in the bank for maintenance like cambelt etc. I know the R is the heavier car due to the Haldex, but it's obviously faster out of the box and a quick downpipe and remap would easily see 300bhp.
This is more along the lines of the Mk7 GTi in our price range, but thats already on 70k
I'd say we do 8-9k per year miles on the daily.
This MK7 R has 80k on it, but is a lovely looking thing.
But it's top end of the budget, and if there's any engine issues, it's a paperweight at that point.

Prices dipped a bit on the 6R’s, and i think they will hold well. I’d plump for one, engines are excellent, my old Edition 30 was brilliant, more or less the same engine iirc.
