I then started on the front brake lines.
I fitted the t-piece to the little aluminium bracket i made and riveted onto the chassis leg. I also added some anti chaffing rubber on the corner just incase it comes into contact with the chassis. It shouldn't but i'd rather play it safe.
I then mounted the servo/reservoir and all the front brake lines.
The pedal box and clutch cable were also mounted at the same time.
I then set about bending up the cockpit fuel hardlines.. A very time consuming/tedious job, but completely worth it to see the end result look so neat. I have ran them under the drivers seat and then across onto the tunnel, before going up into the scuttle. I also mounted the extinguisher in the passenger footwell ready for plumbing in!
I then plumbed in the front nozzles, pointing down at both driver/passenger footwells
The hose then routes through the scuttle area and into the engine bay. I left the fuel lines under the scuttle as I needed the engine in to see where best to route them.
I then set about fitting the fuel tank.
I wanted to remove the large portion of the fuel filler vent as it runs extremely close to the rear spring/damper unit.
I removed the 90deg fitting from the front inlet elbow. and hacked off the breather vent section on the filler (being careful not to damage the main fill hose.
I then bonded the 90deg elbow onto the trimmed filler hose (no pics of this yet, just mocked up below)
The next step was to make the fuel outlet hose which joins the tank to the chassis fitting.
I've seen so many versions of this hose, plain hoses just hose clamped onto the fitting on the tank, or using the existing hose up to the bulkhead etc.
I decided the utilise the existing fuel line 90deg fitting and re connect it back inside a braided hose I had made.
I drove over to ATEC again and got the fitting crimped on and pressure tested. nicely packaged for me.
End result looking lovely!
I then fitted the other side onto the bulkhead fitting where the tank sits that goes through to the cockpit hardlines. I have blanked off the return as I only need that when I upgrade to alu tank and throttle bodies etc.
I then fitted a new pipe from the tank to the main filler vent i modified earlier. (utilizing half of the original)
I have also fitted a smaller hose onto the main tank breather that runs down the rear of the chassis under the boot and out to atmosphere just behind the rear bumper.
Tank up and bolted in!
