182 Trophy & 197 F1
Well i have now decided to write up as much as i possibly can regarding the work and effort i have put into my 2005 Clio 182 Trophy.
There is loads of pictures i have posted all over the forum but nothing really to show the work in order since i bought the car.
This is how i bought the car in Dec 2011 and after picking it up in freezing conditions i took it back to my work and dropped it off in the car park.
The next day i managed to get the car out the garage and have a look at it.
When i firstly went to see the car there was a broken spring so while the car was kept in the garage and off the road it was time to order up some Mark Fish springs.
While the car was on the ramp i decided to get the exhaust brackets changed and give the exhaust a decent clean.
Next thing was to change the look of the engine bay as i hated the way it looked and how dirty it was.
I bought 3 of them as i was unsure of which colour i wanted.
Then it was time to change the rear bench that comes in the trophy. I could not stand it so i managed to find one on the forum and then i set about fitting it.
The 16" Speedline wheels where in serious need for a re-furb so there was standard 182 silver wheels bought and the speedlines went and got all sorted.
Got the Speedlines back a week later as well as a 17" wheel for the Escort Rs
At this point i seen a boot tray and i just had to have it so i went and bout it and popped it in teh boot.
Next was a powerflex dogbone mount as after doing a fair bit of reading it seemed to be a worth while upgrade.
Then managed to get myself some PTFE gaskets as well as a nice clean sent of plenums.
Then fitted powder coated Subframe brackets.
Next up was some RS car mats for the car as the ones that where in teh car where not the best.
Upgraded all 4 speakers also
I bought some forge hoses in black and still to this day they are sitting in the original packaging 2 years on.
There was AST soild top mounts bought for the car direct from AST.
Then spoke to Chris on the forum and ordered up some interior carbon.
Than after months of hunting and letters to RUK i managed to getthe only set of Sachs Stickers.
Next up i swapped the LED side lights for bigger and brighter ones.
Then after finding out on the forum how cheap and easy the skoda splitter was i set about doing this.
Next up was a rear LED light and new lens from renault.
Next up was a braking problem and after futher inspection one of the KTR brake pads had snapped.
So i decided to do a full overhaul of the front brakes on the car and paint the rears.
Then bought an OMP rear strut brake for the car and fitted that.
I found out how expensive front sachs shocks where for the clio so i went on a hunt and found a set online that where for sale and in need of a re-furb These are still boxed sitting in my garage as mine are still going strong.
There was a group buy on the forum for TPI wheel bolts so i once again jumped on the band wagon and bought a set with lockers.
Next up was suspension related parts so i bought pwerflex bottom arm bushes as well as bottom ball joints and track rod ends.
Next up was a KTR air filter that i bought once again from the forum.
Next up was another small add on of a Genuine boot net and a Recaro seat cover.
Next up i had issues with my alternator and it was smelling badly and the stop light was on all the time.
I got the alternator tested and yes it was stuffed.
While in teh garage getting this and teh AUX belt done i got the AST top mounts fitted as well.
Always wanted Xenon's and after Steveo C on the forum was selling his i jumped at the change and him and his brother said they would kindly fit them for me.
Then fitted new airbox bolts that where red to tidy it up alittle.
Next up was to fix the CAT and fit a new centre exhaust rubber aswell as a CAT fitting kit and clamp.
Had problems with teh alarm going off and after hunting for ages i pin pointed it back to the boot lock, Even tho it was still locking it was setting the alarm off.
New wiper blades where then fitted all round
Managed to find the trophy decal that sits on the sill so got myself 2 of these.
Next up after hunting ebay i found the new renault sport badge so i went ahead and bought one of them so while that was on its way i took the old one off.
After a few years of posting pictures on the forum and having people say how bad my yozza exhaust was it was time to get it all lined up and sorted once and for all.
I then wanted to clean the car up so almost all my stickers came off the car, These stickers are now no longer on.
My speedlines need tyres all round and the wheels are once again looking dirty witha couple of kurb marks so i have bought R19 16v wheels just to run round in just now.
After coming across yellow daves topic on the exhaust hangers i decided to go ahead and after getting the stuff cheap as chips from ECP i went ahead and fitted the hangers with powerflex bushes.
I had a spare 182 CAT that was laying about and after doing a deal with Chris for some carbon i ended up with these on the inside of the car.
