vehicle inspectorate t*ssers

  williams 2 turbo

been pulled again, first time this year, and the poilce called down the vehicle inspectorate to check it over, hour and a half later they turn up, firstly my wheels are to big for the car, then my exhaust is illegal, the my paint is cos it only says red marble on my log book, not red and black marble, finally they come down to my windows are .7% to dark and make me take the tint off there and then or they will impound the car. who says modified cars arnt easy targets!

Sorry to hear... Yep ur right there wan*ers big style, how comes they said that about your wheels what rims are u running? Got any pics?

Bleedin Eck! Thats the 3rd degree.

Last Time I got pulled was a few years back as I floored it in 1st to 30, saw the coppers, dropped into 4th and sat at30... they pulled me anyway, took all the people in the car out, saw my back tyre was 4psi flat, told me to go to a garage and inflate it before I could let anyone else back in.

I said I was doing thirty and they had nothing on me... They grumbled about people had been racing round that part all night etc.. I said I knew but I wasnt.. They let me off eventualy.

no points just 2 hours work lost and a right bad mood. two words, "easy targets", why go after those bad criminals when they just stop every one else. dont think it helped when i asked them to address me as sir, and not sunny! got badge numbers after they took my details is it worth taking it further?

worth a try, 0.7% too dark? i mean come on! who cares! Things that are illegal to have like knives, the sellers get massive fines for selling, so why not the same for tints, if we are anything but an easy target?

I agree that .7% too much tint is petty, but look at it from their point of view: if the legal figure is 30% max, and youre tints are 30.7%, then youre over. They have to draw the line somewhere. Aside from the law, what about your insurance? If you crashed and they found that your tints were outside of the allowed amount, could that invalidate your insurance? I know these things are a pain, but they usually are there for a reason.
