Viper X....Q’ for Roamer

  ICE'dberg MK2 172

The Viper is now fitted, only had it for 4 months!!! Yes Geoff...Ive fitted it. Honest!!. Sounds good when its pushed. The K-tec exhaust goes on Thursday and then will have to get it remapped ASAP. Ive run the pipe down to the front grill as BenR has with the RS-R
Question for Roamer...On the original air feed from the wing the pipe goes through a short tube which has a flap that looks like it regulates the air. There is also a pipe which connects through to just left of the throttle body from it. Can you have a look at yours and tell me whether the air feed pipe goes through the tube or does it bypass it? Thanks.

Chris, Dave@K-tec removed the actuator which goes onto the second feedpipe in the original configuration, also the actuator pipe isnt wide enough (Is it??) for th 100m ducting that comes with the Viper, oh and how close does the first bend from the Viper come to your Rad? how tight it is? mines way too tight, so Im gonna replace the ducting with Wyrem Flexihose stuff when I finally get round to ordering it.

Roamer

The first bend is quite tight and very close to the rad. but shouldnt be a problem. I bypassed the actuator pipe altogether but had to move it to get the new air feed pipe through. Didnt want to disconnect it in case it messed with the ECU, i think it might be something to do with advance/r****d but hopefully the remap will sort that. Have you put the intake into your front grill? Have you put some sort of meshing on it to stop leaves and stuff getting up the pipe?

Geoff

Dont know mate? I must have been drunk...LOL! Its just one of those things that has to be done.....but I take longer than most to make up my mind to do it...LOL! How are you getting on with your mods? Has Nick managed to eek out more power yet? Let me know if you are getting it roaded again soon and Ill have to give mine another go. Would be nice to compare before and after using the same road.

Chris?

Havent had a chance to speak to Nick yet but will try and ring this week. I might PM Arjun and Jamie and see what they have had done since.

Sat in the new V6 at the Motorshow and I really want one!

easiest thign is to remove the actuator, unbolt it from the flap and tehm just conect it back up to the ECU soit doesnt know its missing and it still works.

So the Lotus is put to the back of the que?? At least the V6 has a rather large parcel shelf ;)
Do you know Arjuns and Jamies power figures.? Hopefully after the remap I should be getting towards the 180 mark. Still cannot get over Marks 167 tho. Im hoping Roamers wasnt up there to begin with other wise 180 will be a dream I think.

Ben
Just moved the whole tube a bit and tie wrapped it to make it secure so at least I wont loose it if the original has to go back in. I remember reading somewhere about the air feed to this pipe and someone having a rather low power read out only to find it was kinked!!! well mine was definatley kinked to at least half of its size. Its going to be interesting now to find out what itll put out now.
