Weight of a full tank of fuel...

  GW RS200
Measured a jug of water tonight - 1 litre is equivalent to about 2lbs. Using extremely rough calculations I reckon a full tank must be the equivalent of around 6.5 stones! Quite an eye opener eh? So presumably filling up to full with a premium fuel will only give the kind of performance as filling halfway with some normal super?! (OK, I admit that last bit is pure speculation!)...

  Mégane RS
i believe diesel heavier too, i suppose its more ecconomical to carry less fuel as its less weight to carry around, but more trips to the petrol station :(

  172 Cup
Its all to do with specific gravity, for example aviation fuel has a different weight to the normal unleaded you use in your car. It all depends on the Separation from the fractional distillation process. School did serve me some purpose......

Ps with a full tank and me in my cup it weighs a good 1100 Kgs ! ! !
