  Renault Clio MK3
Hi Guys,

I'm new to all this so please forgive me if ive made any stupid forum mistakes or anything.
i have searched this through old posts but have never found anything solid to work from

what i have is a 2012 Renault Clio MKIII (Facelift) Expression+.
i love the car but the stereo system is a bit lacking.
it currently looks like this :

at the moment i just use my ipod classic plugged into the stereo-Aux connection at the bottom.
what i'd like to do is swap out this unit for something that can handle my iPod through a USB connection.
ive seen hundreds of different stereo systems that claim to be compatible with iPods but im unsure whats compatible with my Clio.
i wanted to know if there's a unit i can buy which is compatible with the steering controls :

and also does anyone know if any aftermarket units work with this dashboard menu:

sorry if my post is a bit basic but im really not sure of the technical details of the existing system.

if anyone has any questions im more than happy to try and answer or take more pics

any help would be really appreciated

many thanks

Hi mate.

Not standard stereo will keep steering controls. If you change it you need to get a Connects2 cable to retain steering controls.

All aftermarket stereos will also stop the top display working and will just display "Renault", the time and the temperature.

As for stereo, any stereo which is advertised as working with iPods will work.

You can get cables to retain all the features you mention with an aftermarket head unit. Typhoon is right in that most wont retain the dash-top display though.

If the stalk-control cable is about £20, it'll just be the stalk controls. If it's more like £70, it'll give you name/track/radio info in the dash display. I found it worth the extra just to keep the display useful and quasi-OEM. I am having a struggle finding links for a MK3 one though, so could be there isn't the option at all.

If you want to keep the track info on the display, you'll need to find a headunit that is OEM Sub-display Ready. A simple google search will reveal some. This is the cable you will need for an Alpine headunit: APF-D102RE. At over £100 it's not exactly cheap but all depends on how badly you want to keep everything OEM

Top finding.
