Engine noise NOT Dephaser

Alright, I need some help people!
Searched al over and can see one thread that is anythin like this, but can't find the answer!
I have a 2005 182 ff and had the dephaser and all belts, pulleys etc changed last sept, the car now has 93000 on the clock and has developed at tapping noise!
When the car is ticking over the noise is there (nothing like dephaser as i know what that sounds like) and stays steady with the revs all the way up till the exhaust drowns the sound out ha ha!
Oil and filter was rencently change 1month ago, correct oil was used 5w40!
Sounds like it's tappets/lifters but from what I have read there is pritty much zero chance they would go. I have owed the car 6 years now and has always been serviced regular etc!
Anybody have any ideas???

PS it's not the carbon canister as that has been removed ha ha!

The lifters can make noise mine has since i bought it with 36000 on the clock,still sounds the same coming from the inlet manifold area.

Jus seems as if it has jus started, car runs fine and pulls as well as it has jus dont no why the noise ha ha!

Mine has done the same since I had the belts and dephaser done. I had it checked out and the diagnosis was lifter and if there's a slight blow in the exhaust it makes it sound worse.

So u get them changed? As most 182's has a very slight blow but defo nowt major ha Ha!

I haven't had anything changed since it started. Still does it but drives as normal. It can't be heard inside the car so it doesn't bother me.

That basically the same as mine can't b herd in the car jus outside, with it jus starting thought it was strange tho! I work for a motor factors and jus priced them at £8.62 (have to double check there correct tomoro) don't think it's worth the hassel tho? Many miles u got on urs now??

Mine's on 106k, belts done 3k ago and it hasn't changed in that time.

I can't justify the cost for it tbh, pretty sure it means new belts again.

Nope no way al b paying for a new belt kit etc ha ha! Think al jus live with it ha ha

mine has 71000 sounds the same as the day i got it, you can find out where its coming from buy using a long screw driver and putting your ear to the handle.

mine has 71000 sounds the same as the day i got it, you can find out where its coming from buy using a long screw driver and putting your ear to the handle.

Seems to b running fine jus the noise, jus changed the oil with millers oil we sell at work! Seems as if jus another 182 noise to put up with ha ha ha! Really apperaite the help lads
