Clio 172 MPG - Very Good

Car  Clio 172 Sport Ph2
Gotta be said......I'm quite impressed with the MPG I'm thats being returned on my car atm.

Trundled into work this morning (havent swapped my Clio track car for my normal VW Bora yet due to laziness!!) and had a quick glimpse of the average MPG registered - 37.2MPG over a 18 mile urban drive with only a couple of blasts up quick sections of road!!!

Although on track I was seeing 14mpg! LOL!

;););)

I regularly see 35 mpg+ on the guage, but when i work it out at the pump, i'm only getting 32mpg, So the computer often lies.....

172 is a pretty economical car considering the performance on offer...I was well impressed with my 172's MPG after owning an Impreza

Not seen how low the computer reads when caning it. Anyone done that? Will try to remember and see what it comes up with

My computer tells me I'm on course for a 400-mile tankful. And I haven't been gentle, either, so something's not quite right somewhere. Not that I'm complaining if it's right, I'd be well happy!!

^^^ Don't worry mate , it'll soon drop to 280 miles a tank , lol .

I don't think the petrol gauge / comp is very accurate imo .

If you try the little trick with the cars comp and check how many litres there are leftin the tank , then fill your car up with say " 20 litres " it never adds up accurately what it had in the tank before and what you've just put in the tank .

The only time i ever see an mpg of mid to low 30's is when i've got cruise control set at around 75mph and on a totally flat road i.e. the M55 . Om avegerage i always see around 26 - 28mpg thats a mix of town and motorway driving . Thats in my 182 and thats what i averaged in my 172 as well . Maybe i just have a right foot made of lead , lol

i concur!!!

my Spec-C Impreza wouldnt give more than 17mpg at very best!!! So to get low 30's in the 172 is a revelation!!
