Anyone use megs wheel brightener?

I posted on detailingworld the other week about this but that lot on there don't reply much unless you're licking a f430 clean!

I was told this particular wheel cleaner is quite hardcore, but i need to know how hardcore. i've been using carbone lorraines pads for a while for track driving and they've mullered my wheels. it was suggested this stuff might lift the brake dust but i'm fcuked if i'm paying 18 quid for a big bottle if it doesn't do anything.

if i had a spare set of wheels and 200 notes i'd get a refurb but for now i'm open to ideas.

It depends...you normally dilute it something like 4:1 with water which isn't too strong, worth a try though as once break dust burns onto an alloy it can sometimes be nigh on impossible to remove it.

might borrow my dad's dremel and buy some lime green paint...

Wb isn't even that strong. I use it occasionally.

I know a lot of guys hate it as it is too strong but i would recommend using wonder wheels.
I had some white Team Dynamics for my old saxo that looked to be it as bad a state and i used wonder wheels and it got it all off.
Just make sure as it is actually acidic that you clean them very thoroughly afterwards and i applied 3 coats of wax to them and they were fine for the 2 years i owned them for afterwards.

Edit: make sure there are not chips or sctraches down to the bare metal though as this will obviously cause it to rust dramatically

cant you sand the dust off with some wet an dry or something? then polish them up?

use some meguiars wheel cleaner and a wheel brush, if that doesnt work, some autoglym tar remover, or brake cleaner if that fails!
