Icemans Britcar Endurance project 182

Oh sorry my bad, thought about the anodized stuff for the door cards. Just regular flat head M4 alu bolts?

Ahh that mounting kit. I have gone for rubber blind nuts with blue ally counter sunk washers and screws also in blue. That parcel should be there next week when I arrive so another box pic :) Will have a big weekend then!

hi mate,

have you managed to install the dash yet and are you happy with it mate?

If so can you give me some dimensions for the stickers so I can get them made up and sent off to you.

Many thanks

Raj

shame you've not had the shell back yet mate. They seem to be taking ages.

To be fair to them they did say three weeks but then they had the whole week off for easter so then thats 4 weeks and now they are painting it so thats another week. Be 6 to 7 weeks I guess by the time it comes back to me.

On a more positive note some more boxes arrived so I shall photgraph them as they are awesome boxes as boxes go.

Just had a call from CC.

Car is finished and looks the bollox. They have for the first time welded in extra gussets in the roof and also doors and will be doing all Clio cages like this in future. Should look good with the front window gussets aswell. I like a nice gusset it has to be said. In fact a nice gusset and a box is very much appreciated.

Delivery to me Thursday 2nd June :) Excited.

No more box pictures :)

Ive noticed on my flywheel that there are no spiggot holes? Are the bolts strong enough to hold the cover tourque on their own then?

Yeh it's quite a list eh now I read it back ha ha. But I will be in the garage from dawn till midnight so we shall see how I go.

I got the false floor idea from the black clio over at Matts. Undecided as it's quite a bit of work for no gain apart from bling value and a bit of floor stiffening.

Mark.

PS
LOADS of long awaited project pics next week :)

I've had a sit in that black x85 clio, the seating position is amazing compared to mine, mostly due to the floor having been raised up. Id love to do it to mine

Is there a logical reason to put the battery inside the car and not in the engine bay? Surely in the bay uses less wire/weight

if you go pedal box, make sure you go Tilton or AP racing, not that OBP tat sold on ebay! but realistically, its not worth it, the cup racers don't need them and it is just another big head ache to get around.

get some treadplate shaped to the floor of the foot well and raise ur feet 35mm, jobs a good-un.

Funny that is exactly what Matt said when I mentioned getting a pedal box.

Cup racers don't use pedal boxes because they are built to a cost and they do short races. This Clio is being built for Britcar races, so that is anything from 2-24 hours, a completely different remit.

A pedal box will allow much greater control, particularly useful if it starts raining in the middle of a race, or if you find yourself racing at the Nurburgring, it might be raining on one half of the circuit :D

Some good points and knowing me like I do I will get one just for the bling value ;)

what's the significance of the raining?
