Cordless polishers.. Not sure if many have much experience with these but seen as I have the touring I definitely don't think my Flex pxe is up to the task so was looking to upgrade to the Flex XCE but looking at other options too the Milwaukee one comes in quite a bit cheaper. @NorthloopCup sorry if I remember wrong but did you get the Milwaukee one?

Infinity wax supergloss+ spray wax, nice and easy to use and gives nice gloss for minimum effort.

See how it holds up but even if it'd not long it's so quick to apply it doesn't matter

Has anyone used infinity wax synergy 2 year coating?

If the marketing is to believed it gives a 2 year protection on the driveway with little preparation (full decontamination, but no requirement for polishing).

My Cupra Ateca is in relatively good condition which I think I will be able to get into a great condition with a single pass on a DA polisher.

If you have used it what do you think of it and how have you maintained the finish?

Glad you've posted that then, I don't want to be wasting my time or money.

Part of me is thinking of sacking off sealants and going old school with zymol glasur, I loved using that back in the day!

I havent used the 2 year, but I did use the 1 year version (V1?)

As a product, its pretty good. Its a 'lite' coating so you cant expect miracles from it. But, for the money, it was pretty darn good. The biggest issue I had with it was application - went on easily, but getting it off evenly was a PITA. This was on a white car too! I also dont think it lasted all that well, but it was my brothers car and he is absolutely no detailer so a pinch of salt is required there.

The way I see it is that you have 2 options based on your commitment to prep & working conditions:

1) You go whole hog and properly coat the car. My recommendation would be CQUK 3.0 as it comes with a topper that you apply after 1 hour. That allows the coating to continue to 'cure' under it and then youre not worried about condensation overnight etc.

2) You go with a really hardy sealant. Recommendations on this are just one: SiRamik Lustrous +. Hands down the most long lasting sealant ive ever used. I 'real world' tested this on my M140i and I couldnt ruin it. I never topped it and even used pure shampoo. I lived quite literally on the seafront, so salt battered it all over winter. If memory serves me right, it lasted 8 months before I got bored and stripped it with a polisher/Megs Wash+. Application wise, you would prep the car as you would normally, no need to polish and you apply it like any other sealants. Level it after, let it cure for a while and bosh, 8 months of beading. It also, i swear, kept the car cleaner than any other sealant ive used before, but thats a subjective thing.

Hope that helps!

I used the lite version for time and ease + no garage. Easy to use. Almost slap it on. Water behaviour, looks, great. Longevity I’ll wait and see. Suggested 1 year (properly prepped and a Sunday car) so we’ll see.

What size bottle would you suggest for a mid size SUV? I can see it comes in 30ml and 50ml (CQUK 3.0) I'm thinking of that x 2 and the reload on top of it as you suggest

Just had a look online, seems 30ml should do the Ateca, think of I get 50ml I can do my Ateca and her 500.

Personally, I'd always go for the 50ml. It's marginally more expensive but it's such a handy product to have spare of. I did my kitchen sink and everything at home 🤣

I won a bottle of q2Pure Evo if you want it cheap
Appreciate the offer, unfortunately I don't have anywhere I can dry store the cars for 12 hrs so I'd be a little nervous messing it up having the car outside, this is what drew me to Synergy originally as that can be applied wherever and doesn't need dry storage it also seems that CQUK 3.0 is similar (except the need for 60mins which I'm sure i can manage)

First deep clean for this yesterday. Same as my usual decontamination wash with Surfex HD, TarX, Bilt Hamber fallout remover etc and some coats of Infinity Wax RD/Sonax BSD to finish it off. Should make cleaning over the winter a bit easier. It's always surprising to me how much a good wash and seal/wax really makes a massive improvement.

Polished off a few marks too with the Flex PXE which does a great job but definitely want to get that Milwaukee one for larger areas.

I’ve been using SoWax products for a while but Harry is now uncontactable and his website is showing everything as out of stock.
What brands are people using? I like the idea of going with a brand for all products.

I’ve emailed, FB’d him and messaged him on here. I hope he’s ok, but it looks like they’ve stopped selling the products.

What’s the go to for rust prevention? I’ve got a new front bingo wing to go on the m3 and want to coat the inside with something to stop it dissolving. I also want to do the inner rear arches ahead of the winter

thought and wash my dads car this morning , it's been a while. It also sits underneath a tree and the near side and the roof is covered in tree sap. I washed and used the tar remover and scrubbed as best as i could but there's still a lot sap on the car. Is there anything i can do other than go at it again and again?
