Halo MCC is currently £14.99 on cdkeys for the version on Steam, I started the Reach campaign this afternoon and it’s buttery smooth with everything turned up. Barely wakes the pc up playing it 😂

I bought the whole series for around £3 a few years ago. I fired Reach up for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago and was amazed at how little it taxes anything on the PC.

Help me out. What was the car game where you could walk round your garage and look at your cars? Pretty sure it had an arcade game in it as well?

Thats it! Forgot all about that game. Just had a google and looks like PGR 2 is the one I remember

Whatever happened to it? Just stopped making it?
Think it got taken over by Forza and the rest was history. Decent racing games in fairness

This. This, right here, is fantastic news. It's early days so the video is more of a nostalgic look at the original. Play it again, Sam. Fisher.

TL;DR - a remake of the original Splinter Cell game, but using modern gaming tech and assets.

Was playing Blacklist the other day and wondering if we were ever going to see another splinter cell, but I'll settle for a remake.
Wouldn't want to know how many days I put into Chaos Theory.

Used to be really big into my gaming. Since moving out of home and being a little more career driven, I lack the time these days. So sad. Used to love blowing 8 hours on a great game of cod Zombies.

More recently, I redownloaded Civilization 5 and im really back into it. Love that its quite long but you can pick it up and put it down whenever I get the time.
Then the OH wanted to buy it on her Switch. Cant get it off her now 🤣

Whilst looking to see if I could find Speedball 2 for the Xbox... I don't think I can.

I came across this...

I wonder if you get extra points for shooting unarmed black people?

I've got an issue with my Xbox Controller and can't seem to find the answer anywhere.

It only powers on if I keep my finger held on the power X button, let go it turns off. I've tried both my rechargeable batteries plus a set of AAs and still no luck.

Anyone any ideas on what it might be?

Dead pcb component. My day one did the same so sent it off to some fella to be fixed. IIRC it cost about a tenner.

Well it sort of works when hard cabled apart from the A button now.

Any idea where I can get it fixed?

Wanted an Elite though..... hmmmm good excuse?

I found someone local who repaired them. Might be the same for you with a bit of looking around.

Wouldn’t bother with an elite controller. Had a first gen and it broke just out of warranty (stick drift) I believe the 2nd gen aren’t much better.

Either fix yours (can also buy full pcbs on eBay for cheap) or buy a new non elite Xbox controller.

I've got a very similar issue with my PS4 controller as well. Can they be fixed then?

Everything can be fixed, just best finding someone who knows what they are doing with them.

I’ve got a PS4 controller too that doesn’t recognise charging or even just being plugged in like a wired controller. That might be down to a dead battery but I’m not sure.

Looks like a PCB board is £24.99 from a quick google.

I'm going to ignore all the sensible advice I got from the internet and buy the Elite as I want to play with the magnetic connectors :)

Fair enough.

I found it all a fad though.

Have a look at these too.

They use Hall effect sensor instead of the shitty potentiometers for the sticks. So any drift is eliminated.

To counter that, I still have my series 1 Elite controller and aside from the rubber grips peeling off (which I have now replaced) it still works perfectly and no stick drift, despite being several years old!

I've also have a series 2 Elite controller for just coming up 3 years, that had an issue with the RB button where it sometimes didn't register on first press, or needed a harder push than normal, but had that fixed under warranty.

I can confirm the Elite 2 will get stick drift (but you will be able to play with the magnetic connectors).

A controller with Hall effect sensors is much better as it completely eliminates the issue.

It’s annoying that manufacturers still use the old pot types. But then I suppose it wouldn’t get you buying a new controller every year 🙄

How old is the controller you have? Microsoft warranty is pretty decent and has always been a quick turn around for me. I mean I'd get the Elite 2 as it's much better imo but you might be able to get the other one replaced if it's under a year old.

Also if it's out of warranty you can always return and get a refurbished one back for pretty cheap (with the elites that is not sure if it's the same for normal ones).

It seems most controllers these days struggle from stick drift. Even scuf aren't the most reliable and their customer service is w**k in comparison to MS. Would love to find an alternative around same price as Xbox Elite as their main downside is crap latency on PC which is bad especially for shooting games etc.

Top work thank you. Xbox was bought back in Jan 23 so warranty was out on it, added the controller as a device anyway and apparently in warranty until end of December.

Going to ship it off to them.
