no dont paint the ones you have cos theyve got a grain in them and will show up rough.
Ive got some on my mk1 which i got form a breakers yard off a Cup for about the £15 mark
im getting the door grab handles sprayed up to re-fresh them and im needing to get the centre surround which goes round the radio and heater controls off so i get a good all round paint match.
Could anyone tell me how to take it out ??? do i have to take the top half of the dash out ...

IMO Clios seem to suit multi spoke rims better, other than those 17s Kahns which where on a Clio i saw on here a while back. those looked the bomb haha
errr well id say there both apex due to them being yellow.
Iv taken the front fog light out of my mk1 and put the air feed and trumpet in its place. ...all fog lights do is pi** of other drivers anyway !! LOL
Apex springs do a great job on mine. slammed into the weeds and not too hard...
Yeah ive been in contact with this company but its going to mean a fair bit of messing about cos A they dont speak english and B the postings gonna cost a bomb !!

This might be a daft question but would a V6 centre console fit a 172 mk 1 ??? Looking at pictures they look pretty much the same.

Begining of the summer last year i was offered 8 and a half for my mk1 172 at a Scooby dealer !! it had about 36 tho on the clock too !!!

Got a mk1 172. I have one key which one of the chip things broke off so i soldered it back on. [ not 100% reliable ]
Anyway i was using the spare key cos that one was ok till last week when the car wouldnt start !!
Turns out that the key needs sending away to France for re-programing but my...
yeah...theres plenty of different offsets to choose from but as for the centre bolt measurments that could be a problem
can you not buy different ring things for this though ??? spigot rings or something i think there called ??
At the moment theres just no rims on the market that grab in by my balls so to speak !!
Just went on the K-Tec site and theyve got a set of rims that look very similer to Gram Lights which are jap rims !! Look very nice indeed
Just looking at wheels and theres some really nice jap type rims available. eg Rays / Volk
does anyone know if jap type rims will bolt up to a Clio ??

Ive got my Ipod flush mounted where the ash tray is !! got a console from a crashed 172 and modded it to fit. I can still get into the underneath of the ash tray too !!
Well it turns out it was the key that was the problem !! We just used the spare one and it starts no bother !!
The other problem is last night on a trip, when we turned the car on it now sits at 2000 rpm and wont drop at all !!! the throttle body flap thing is not sticking cos we checked it...
AA is on the way !! LOL
Nah i dont think its the immobiliser cos wouldnt it show up on the diagnostic computer plus it goes after its been bump started.
I had a problem a couple of weeks ago starting my Clio. It would turn over but not fire up. Usualy after 2 attemps it started and it was always when the car had already been used ie not from cold.
Sometimes it would start up and just cut back out !! if it wont start and i come back to the car...
Stick with the mk1.
loads more rarer than the mk2s plus the originals are always the best !!
Bet the RS boys have had a similar debates about series 1 and 2 RS Turbos !! LOL
Weve just been doing my sound system this week. Im gonna run the neons like you off the boot close switch although another pall reckons i should run it off the remote from the HU instead.

Got a bit of a problem putting the head unit back into the dash cos the RCA lead conectors stick out too far at the back there hitting against the heater box !!
theres so little room at the back of the head unit.
Is there some sort of adaptor that i can use to plug in the RCA cables so...
