I love pictures like those first few from 1998 (not for your pride and joy in a sorry state I must add) but all the old 80s cars in the backdrop that used to be everywhere but have just disappeared off the road without anyone barely realising, 1998 doesn't even seem that long ago!!
Good to see some people bucking the trend of driving the value down on these cars at every opportunity!
A good one is well worth the money as there's lots of areas where money could need spending!
Ok to take this thread to the next level, does anyone have any 'period' photos of old fords they've owned back in their heyday? Would love to see some 80's/90's shots of xr's, rs turbos to spark of some real old ford nostalgia.
Watched this on eBay, personally I think for what it went for you got a real good price. As essentially it's a low mileage tidy ph1 and most of them need a 2nd cambelt change by now.
still got love for mine, they drive so well with fresh suspension and brakes
I remember that being up on zsoc and seriously considered putting my 106 gti up for sale to get it at the time.
Looks like you're gonna do just as good a job on this one, coming along nicely.
Hi,
Took my clio into renault today (only to have a new key programmed - no other reason I would go there!!) and after programming the key they told me they have noticed none of my brake lights work?!
Does anyone have any idea of what this might be and what the first places to check are? The...
Love it...you've made it looks miles better already!
Like gally said it's the little details... personally I love the original green stripe!
I miss these being a regular sight on the roads...late 90's early 2000's I can remember seeing loads of them.
It would be £50 or so well spent I think!
Another job eh captain? Hope it works out for you.
Do let me know if you sell this, I would stick the PH1 up for sale and put a few pence together (even just to sniff the drivers recaro!)
Hi,
a few months back my key fell apart, I managed to put it back together using the plastic casing from another key and since then it has worked 90% of the time, intermittently not starting first time (red led light on the dash flashing)
Now strangely it just does this everytime I turn the...
Love that mate. The only thing I would do with it is get the side strips lacquered as they aren't on cups and it stands out to my fussy eyes!
Think you will have to sell this to me once you take the plunge for the Rs clio 4
Ooh happy days I'll come down and get this done. It is leaking from the box a bit though too so this made me wonder.
My only problem is getting down to you in the week as I don't get home from work til about 6.30
I've just discovered this issue on mine - it's dumped a load of cv grease and gearbox oil on the inside of my recently powdercoated alloys How much would this be to do at yours?
One other thing I will say is that whilst I liked it overall and felt it drove well, I run a Mazda 2 as my daily car and jumping back in it today I realised how much sharper to drive it is than the Clio (the mazda is based on the Fiesta so same applies)
Mazda is better handling, with better...
No mate, it's been at our offices in Derby all week for our staff to try out, must have been a similar registered car on Renaults fleet.
I'm with you there.
I completely agree with the red on black contrast... It's brash but it works in a funky kind of way - The car is very clearly targeted at a young market and I think it will do well.
I also agree it would look much better with silver wheels, I hate these black/chrome rip speed combos...
Hey you cup head! I think you'll be in for a treat with the new Clio 4RS you're lining up.
This middle spec (at a guess) model feels like a good platform for the boys at Dieppe to work their magic on.
