    help needed with motorsport pics

Thanks guys, all helpful stuff. Access at Silverstone was such a nightmare. The spot that I shot those from was the closest I could get to the track without having to shoot through fences etc, and I was hoping to get some good "crash" shots! I'd also forgotten how fast the open wheelers are -...

    help needed with motorsport pics

Hi guys, Been going through my World Series pictures, and I've come away with very few useable pictures. Silverstone isn't an easy place to get a clean shot as there are so many fences. As a newbie, I also have what can be described as "budget" equipment (a 400D with a £100 Sigma 70-300mm...

    EOS 400d or Olympus E410?

Hi guys, Been thinking about buying myself a DSLR for Xmas pressie, and had pretty much decided on the EOS 400d. However, just seen this offer at Park Cameras for the Olympus E410 and twin lens kit. Seems to be good value for money, and the extra lens would be very handy. Obviously there must...

    what's it worth??

Thanks Timmay. Any advice on best way to sell the car with finance still owing? I took it to an independant car sales place near me, and they offered £4.3 for it!!! Thinking it might be easier to take a lower price for it at a dealership, than trying to sell it privately and dealing with the...

    what's it worth??

Hi guys, Going to have to sell my Ph2 Flame Red 172, just wondering what price I should advertise it for? 03 plate 52k ITG panel filter & Pro-speed exhaust I was thinking around £5.9 - £6k? Also, I still owe finance on it, which will obviously show up on HPI. My plan is that when the person...

    Wheel bearing failure?

They were torqued correctly. I would pop over to Yozzasport, but its 200 miles and 3 1/2 hours. Suppose I could combine the trip with my service, which is due...... Just trying to rule out any other options before I swap them for new ones... Thanks for your help guys

    Wheel bearing failure?

hmmm. Difficult to tell. It changes pitch with road speed. If it was a tyre out of shape, wouldn't there be a vibration? Yozzasport have been great and offered to replace them for me, but it's a bit of a b*ll ache to change them if that isn't the problem.

    Wheel bearing failure?

Hi guys, I replaced the rear discs and bearings on my 172 about 3 months ago, but have noticed in the last few days that there's a whining noise coming from the rear of the car again. Is it possible that the bearings could have failed after such a short time, or is there anything else i should...

    video request - anyone remember?

Looking for a video I was once sent by e-mail, and i think it might have been posted by someone on here. It was a Mk1 clio (looked like a williams or hybrid of some description), that was stripped and caged, going round a track (might have been Castle Coombe)?? The video showed it beating a...

    Lambert Sensor??

I think she means Lambda sensor? It sits in the exhaust and monitors the escaping gasses. The ECU then uses this info to adjust the timing and fuel mixture. If it fails, it's likely the car would run like a bag of spanners. I don't think they're too expensive to replace though??

    new exhaust

Had my pro-speed done a few months ago, and still love it. Haven't looked underneath the car to make sure it's OK, but it doesn't knock or anything. Sounds great too!

    Rear disc change

Thanks Steve, It's really annoying because I used to have a torque wrench, then when i moved out of home i forgot to bring it with me - i stupidly thought that now i have "modern" car, I wouldn't need to get my hands dirty anymore!! The discs came with the ABS ring and bearings ready...

    Rear disc change

Hi guys, Ordered my new rear discs and pads (OE) from Yozzasport yesterday (they arrived this morning, thanks Fred et al) so I'm going to be changing them this weekend. I've read FuBar's guide (http://www.fubarnet.com/rear_discs.html) and it says I need to torque the hub nut up to 172 Nm +/-...

    Rear wheel bearing

Sounds about right for Renault I would have thought. I've just bought new discs from Yozzasport this morning, and they come with the bearings ready pressed. Total cost was £190, but also benefitting from new discs & pads...........

    Brake advice

Hi guys, I think my rear discs and pads are shot, so gotta replace them. Whilst I'm doing it, makes sense to upgrade (probably cheaper than Renault parts too?), but will I have any problems with brake balance if I upgrade rear discs and pads whilst still using standard fronts? Is it worth...

    Smallest wheels?

That's him. I work with him. Not sure he's selling the Benz, but I've persuaded him that if he wants a daily driver/runaround to get a clio. The Benz is amazing, love it!

    Smallest wheels?

Doh, Those alloys are only available in 13". Any other suggestions if he's gotta use 14's? what about: He's a pretty committed low-rider, but having to downsize from his current car due to insurance, being only 19.

    Smallest wheels?

I think it could work. VeeDubs have had the Euro look (small wheels, smoothed etc) for ages. Think it would suit the more rounded shape of the clio better. Plus it would improve the somewhat sluggish acceleration of a 1.2!

    Smallest wheels?

Hi guys, What's the smallest diameter alloy you can fit to a Mk2 ph2 clio? It's a 1.2? A friend of mine is planning on getting one this weekend, and wants to put 13's on, and then slam it. Possible?

    FAO: Prospeed, Cardiff customers

I've just got back from Cardiff after having mine done - fantastic noise! Would recommend Charlie & the gang. Incidently, if you do decide to have it cut into the bumper, I have a spare 182 surround if you need one. PM me......

    new exhaust

Drove from Gatwick to Cardiff this morning to have my new exhaust fitted at pro-speed. Just like to say a big "Thank you" to Charlie and Simon for their work - it looks great (I'll post some pics soon) I've been driving round Cardiff & Bristol with a big grin all afternoon!!
