the plugs were from euro car parts, so a legit source, but they will definately be getting returned when the garage get the old plug out. The car is at the garage now, so they are gonna be dealing with getting the threaded part out. I put the plugs in myself, and I used the old trick of a length...
Yeah it doesn't look like there could be anything down in the cylinder, as I say the spark plug is perfectly in tact, just seperated into two pieces. I did think about it maybe being put in badly, but surely if this was the case, the whole plug would have blown out, not just seperated. There...
Argh, what a nightmare few weeks I've had with my clio. The car is a mk2ph1 clio 1.4 8v. On the way to work the other morning, everything was normal with the car, was running absolutely fine.
I was cruising along in 5th at the NSL, and came to a reasonable hill with quite tight corners, so I...
Hey guys, the gearbox on my mk2ph1 clio 1.4 8v is on it's way out sadly, according to the garage, at 74k. Now I won't be replacing it for a while hopefully, but in any case, the cost of buying and fitting a new gearbox is about the same as the value of the car, so my only real option is a second...
What year is it mate? Mk2Ph1 I assume? If so it is the same car as mine. Same as a normal clio really, this is my second Mk2Ph1 clio. It has a different dash, mine had the uprated sound system (still not much cop), more supportive seats, half buckets but not leather, sunroof, still the same 1.4...
SPL = Sound pressure level, so SPL speakers will mean you have the loudest sound system on the block, but from your last post it looks like you want good quality too, so I reckon look for something good quality from a decent SQ brand. Tried Focal?
They do not look good, but I'm not speaking from experience. They seem to be a woofer and tweeter in one unit. A ford focus grille will not fit over this speaker. Sound quality will also be lower than you might expect with this kind of speaker, as normally in a car the tweeter will be placed on...
I am getting a stange creaking noise from the rear passenger side of my clio when i pull off the last few days, and also occasionally when changing gear below 4th when cold, seems to disappear when the engine is warm though which doesn't make any sense to me, as the engine isnt in the back...
You want to try and get the power cable through the bonnet release cable grommet, do a search on here it has been covered a lot, if it won't go, I drilled a hole in the firewall through to the enine bay and put my own grommet in it. Any other specific questions you need answered?
Been to the garage to sort it, just thought i'd post what happened in case it happens to anyone else. The brake shoe had come off on the one side, which was the feeling i got through the brake pedal, and then through driving it home and to the garage today i screwed up the drum as well, so now i...
I was driving to town last night when i heard a repeated thud from the back passenger side wheel of my clio, I braked, and I could 'feel' this thud through the brake pedal. Had a look at it and couldn't see anything obviously wrong in the dark, so went to drive home slowly. I dropped my mate off...
No, a set of components is three things, the tweeter (tiny speaker that goes in the dash as standard) the crossover (box that all the wires go into and come out of) and the woofer (larger speaker). So you can't replace the tweeter with components or just the door speaker with components...
Won't be bearing if it is when slowing down, a bearing would get worse as you go faster, as said it sounds like something wrong with your brakes, check them out
if memory serves me correctly, from the second pic just pull the wires upwards, and then if you jiggle the l shaped metal connector you can get it around the plack plasic bit in the way and then out.
Nope, it won't work, you'll need to use the pahse 2 lamp assembly holders and rewire the loom so that the lights work correctly, there is a guide on fubar.net i think
I got the letter, it went in with the previous owner, and since then the catch has been greased at every service, seems strange, but it's probably just because its been stood still so long. Thanks for the replies guys, I will take it to renault
I've just got back from working abroad for 7 months, and I went to get my clio back on the road today. I reconnected the battery and tried to close the bonnet, but it would not shut properly, it was slightly raised like when you pull the bonnet release lever. After having a bit of a look I...
If you are a big fan of music like you say, then listen to the above poster and consider getting amped components and a subwoofer as well as a new headunit. The best thing to do is to see if you can listen to other cars, be it your mates' or down at a local audio shop to hear the difference...
Wicked guys, thanks for all of the advice, I'll take heed. I don't think it's the best idea to leave it on road and taxed because it's only my mum who can drive at home, and it will need an MOT while I'm away, and she will not have a clue about anything like that.
Hey guys, I'm leaving my car for around 7 or 8 months next week, as I'm moving to France for a while. it's going to be impractical to take my car with me, so I've decided to leave it here. Now I've got a form from the DVLA to reclaim road tax and declare it SORN, and I was planning to disconnect...
So are you running the components and the sub off the one 4 channel amp then? it would help if you could tell us the RMS figure for the sub too, as that is what really counts, and I'm pretty sure 800 watts will be the max figure. If this is correct, you will be running 2 channels for the front...
