the power steering system is self bleeding. Park the car on grass or gravel, and turn the wheel from full left lock to full right lock. Do this until you get bored.......... Say 20 times......... System will be a lot quiter after that.

Sounds like a deteriorating earth strap. Either battery to body, or engine to body.

The format of that looks crap. The first figure is for the Independant Renault specialists, the second figure is for Renault Dealer

Thanks for the advice guys. I queried them on the rear brakes and they reduced it from £262 to £195. I Phoned Renault lincoln for the same work quote Independant Renault Lincoln service 118 189 front brakes...

So the front replacement sounds okay, but the rear seems a bit pricey. These are for whatever is in the book for a 172, so nothing fancy. They're not a dealer by the way, independant renault specialist.

Serv light coming on is common fault. it's just wiring under the seat that needs tightening. I got mine done under warranty, they knew about the fault. You can do it yourself by getting under the seat and disconnect/reconnect the white plug/socket thing
