15,000 thrashed miles so far, ran it in for one day (200 miles) then let it go, it just keeps getting quicker, no 4k rattle, no first gear thunk, love it!
Mine squeeks a bit on carpark potholes on full lock...
Ive put it down to the extra castor angle / alignment which I assume also causes the front suspension to rattle on some tight corners. The Cup altered geometry up front doesnt seem to fit too well in the bodyshell, but I can forgive all of...
That flat spot you feel from cold could be you engine management regulating the cold start emissions which all new cars have to comply with. The engine is supplied with a funny mixture untill the cat has warmed up enough to clean out those nasty gasses. It makes the engine feel a bit lumpy for...
11,000 miles in 14 months, no probs (apart from small leak into the spare wheel well on day 2 - fixed it myself with a spot of sealant), replaced 2 tyres due to flatspots - my fault. The car feels nicely run in now, engine loosened up, and my driving has improved enough to start throwing it...
Mine pulls too...
Ive had the alignment/tracking checked twice, so I recon its down to road camber. Theres a strip of road close to home which slopes to the right and the car pulls right along this. On bumpy roads it pulls everywhichway, good fun tho!
Some thoughts cross my mind reading the first post above...
How can a Viper suck warm air if the intake pipe is usually routed further away than the standard airbox feed pipe, i.e. its poking out the bumper or wheelwell?
and
Why dont the Clio Cup Racers use this super efficient standard...
Ive been thinking just that... my cars over a year old, I like the idea of a Viper (or ITG or BMC), RS inlet manifold, re-map, and KTEC cat and stainless system. The only reservation I have is that I dont like those visible back boxes...
Yeah, I know, Im getting old....
Tramlining, torque steer, wheelspin, difficulty staying in lane when accelerating hard, the Cup has it all. Ive had mine over a year now and it took me ages to relax behind the wheel. My steering precision has improved, my turn-in timing has improved, wet weather driving is no longer a danger to...
Ive had my car for a year now and Im struggling with the smeared windscreen problem. I originally thought it happened because of the waxing Renault applied to the car, but after endless glass cleaning it still smears. New wiper blades here we come...
The car will behave best with the worn tyres on the front, and if its a damp trackday Id keep the worn tyres on the front. If it pours with rain then either setup will work with obvious disadvantages...
If its dry and yer sliding about loads, put yer worn ones on the back. If you do keep the...
Thought it might be something to do with the new polished inlet mainfold, one of the racer chaps said a while ago that using one gave him about 10bhp more. Renault must have been busy polishing loads...
Im tempted to buy one myself, along with a Viper and a GroupN ECU.
Welcome to the Jeckyll & Hyde world of lift-off oversteer...
"I have brought on myself a punishment and a danger that I cannot name. If I am the chief of sinners, I am the chief of sufferers also. I could not think that this earth contained a place for sufferings and terrors so unmanning..."...
Yup! I can see it, or rather see where its meant to be, on the beam, in line with the rear silencer, theres a small bracket pointing forwards. Up above theres a mounting bracket with a large hole topmost. I guess the valve should be located in between the two brackets...
Step 1: Upgrade brake fluid to one with a higher boiling point, upgrade brake pads to ones that can operate at higher temperatures.
Step 2: Bought smaller diameter wheels with trashable rubber (A539)
I wish I had all the fancy leccy stuff, I somehow put the Cup sideways a few days ago, and put a monster flatspot on my nearside front. Now the tyre hammers down the tarmac. I know youre meant to take your take the pressure off the brakes when they lock up, but I was only six inches off the...
My brakes "thunk" when I lift my foot off the brake pedal.
Can someone explain about the Brake Limiter Valve please? Are they really missing?!
Also, there are only 4 items mentioned above on the AKTIS list for the Cup, is this a complete list?
Here are the culprits!

The latest is theyre considering de-badging the vans and/or using less recognisable vehicles, hence the huge increase in radar/lazer detectors in North Wales. The Chief Constable is one of the main advocates...
1. Power to weight (wanted to upgrade from my Cupra 16v)
2. Price (was considering new Scooby, Focus RS, Civic, but didnt want to spend that much)
3. Handling (was a track day addict...)
ABS would have been nice, just to stop the tyres smoking.
Dont really care about colour, style...
Im impressed with your patience Talizman, I had mine bouncing off the rev limiter well before 200 miles! I couldnt resist!
The shift light seems to light up at different revs depending on gear and engine temperature.
Your next challenge is to learn to change gear after the shift light but...
Yes, Ive found a noise coming from the rear! It only happens when the car is reaching the limits of adhesion on fast corners. Hitting small bumps makes it go away momentarily, as does playing with the throttle mid corner (careful!). Ive come to the conclusion that its the exhaust touching the...
